Product QuestionsAnswered by Dale, the Lawn Mower Expert
Jose - how hard is it to push this mower? Looks pretty heavy from the spec's.

Answer
Neil - California Trimmer reel mowers are designed to make the operation as smooth and easy as possible. There is a drive roller on the mower that propels the mower forward using a deep-tread, no-slip covering that protects the grass and provides tremendous traction. If you need to operate the cutting reel without forward movement, you can simply raise the roller off the ground and take advantage of the mower’s unique “freewheeling” feature – perfect for cutting under shrubs and in tight spaces.

Jose - I'm not sure if I should be using a 5-blade or a 7-blade mower for my lawn. What's the difference?
Dave

Answer
Dave - generally speaking, a 7-blade reel is best suited for cutting bermuda, tiff, bent grass and zoysia. The 5-blade reel is best suited for cutting wet grass or areas that have a great amount of moisture (rain). The prevailing rule: the tougher the grass and the finer the cut you want, the more you want the 7-blade; the wetter the grass, the taller the grass, the chunkier the lawn, the more you want the 5-blade.
Wet Climate: 5-blade
Common Bermuda: 7-blade
Hybrid Bermuda: 7-blade
Zoysia Grass: 7-blade
Bent Grass: 7-blade
Junky Grass: 5-blade
