Every sweeper I have seen has the wheels seize after a few years.
Are these any better, if so, how.

John,
The bronze bushings found on the 12-inch pneumatic wheels will provide long lasting wheel life. However, in regards to whether these will seize the same as other models, I do not have this information. Please feel free to reach out to Agri-Fab directly at (800) 448-9282 for further information.

Where does the thatcher bar fit?

It fits right in front and it is u-bolted directly to the bar where the hitch tongue is attached to. I have included the instruction manual in a link below that outlines this perfectly.
