Good Mower!
This is not a mower for big yards, I have a small yard, and it works great. I have had it for almost 5 years. No problems, I change the oil and run it weekly. I do two yards each 50x100, and it just works fine.
Pros: Price, Durable, I'd Buy It Again, Just Right For Small Yards

Pathetic
This is without a doubt the sorriest excuse for a lawnmower I have ever used and seen. Would not recommend to my worst enemy.

Disposable Lawnmower
Made the mistake of buying the junk. Steering wheel broke right away. I fixed that and it worked alright for 2 years. Except when the tires would spin on the rim and rip off the valve stem. Reverse never did work. Now The mower deck can't be raised or the back end of it rides up over the skid plate and won't come down. I am ready to haul it to the scrap heap.

Sub Par Design From Such A Quality Company=lemon
WEEDEATER makes good or better quality products and it makes no sense to build a mower at this price point and there are SO MANY disappointed buyers! Even worse is you cant get the original part to fix it, you can only be offered the complete rear end for 400 dollars. I retrofitted mine with a Snapper friction disc @ 40 bucks plus labor time and it shredded it like the original part, there are 10 of these on Craigslist in my town so go figure. Friction disc is poor by design, GET GEARED... more

Junk
This was the worst investment I ever made, First steering broke, then transmission with the pulley warped in rubber used for the drive chain.

Weed eater will not sell me a replacement part they want me to purchase the entire back end of the mower for $400.00 plus. I can go on and on.

Problems
First year no problems, from then on nothing but! Steering went out, transmission (or so the repair shop says) needs to be replaced, more than I paid for it new. Can't really find anyone to work on them.

Looked for replacement parts to try and fix it myself, no transmission replacement part listed. This product isn't worth very much to put it nicely. I would NOT buy ANY weedeater product in the future based on the difficulty of trying to get this one repaired.

Don't Waste Your Money
This has to be the worst lawn tractor on the market, the tires will not last past a year, and the 10-400-4 size is almost impossible to find, most replacement wheel are either 7/8th of an inch or 1 inch in diameter, the wheels on this albatross are 3/4 of and inch so forget about getting new wheels. The steering is like trying to turn a locomotive on soft ground if you really want a work out, go to a gym. So don't waste you money.

Manufacturer Response
Brand Rep
S.c.d.,
The wheels should last far longer than a year under normal usage.

This mower is designed for the economically minded individual with small flat yards.

If you need to order replacements, I have included the part numbers below. They can be order through numerous sources online of through any authorized Weedeater service center.

Rear wheel assembly including tire: 581 42 07-01
Front wheel assembly including tire: 581 42 06-01

Worst Buy I Ever Made!!!!
I bought this lawn mower to cut my 1/2 acre lawn and the width was just right to drive through my gates.
My lawn is very level but when I went to turn and go in the opposite direction an awful grinding noise came from the rear end and the mower would not move forward.
Contacted the Weed Eater Corp (no website accessible customer service) told by rep I would have to take to their affiliated repair location. Only 6mos in to my 2 yr warranty.

The recommended repair location is having... more

At Best, A Toy!
I made the mistake of buying this for my yard thinking it would be easy to navigate the gardens and gate-ways.
I have a slight incline to my front yard and this toy spun its wheels even at a grade of approx. 15 degree. That was the least of my concerns, however. The day I brought it home I made 3 passes across my yard and the deck bracket broke at the weld and gouged my lawn before I noticed I was dragging the deck. I took it to have it re-welded and made another attempt to cut grass. The... more
