The WORX WG165 2-in-1 cordless string trimmer/edger gives you two great yard tools in one!
The WORX WG165 delivers the versatility and adjustability to perfectly fit your individual comfort and perform tasks you couldn't do with any other string trimmer.
The WORX WG165 comes with a 24-volt, lithium-ion battery pack that allows homeowners the power needed to tackle bigger trimming jobs. The lithium-ion battery on this cordless trimmer has longer run-times and added power without the hassle of extension cords or messy gasoline engines.
The trimmer is designed to be free standing so if you need to move items or walk away from the trimmer it will stand on it's own. And its space-saver design allows full and quick collapsibility which allows it to fit into a smaller area for easy storage when not in use.

Worx GT 24V
With all guys getting a new tool, I was excited but was concerned about all the reviews on the battery so I decided not to use the "man's" approach and actually read the instruction manual. Well, couldn't find anything about charging the battery the "first" time for 12 hours like I read for other reviews, so I stayed with what I read in the instruction manual. Charged it for 3-5 hours or in this case until the light came green. Unplugged it, since it was late I had to wait until morning to try it out.
Next morning, put the battery back on the charger just to see if it would turn "red" but it didn't so I took it off the charger and headed for the fun. I have a pretty big yard (about 2 acres). I was able to trim along my house, down my driveway, and about 1/20th of my road front. Overall, not too impressed with it. I could only imagine if I bought the lesser voltage battery types available! Then I got to thinking about the infomercial...they cut 2 or 3 times around the football field. When have you ever seen a football field that has crabgrass, weeds, or even tall grass? This Worx Grass Trimmer (GT) is just that, only for "grass" If I wasn't having to wack down thick grass or weeds, then the load would have been minimal on the battery and probably lasted me at least my front yard but this trimmer is more for a yard that is already manicured and needs no "professional" strength.
MY SUGGESTION TO WORX: Can you make it dual power accepted? Be able to attach a cord to it until you've gone too far (in length on the power cord) to unplug and keep going? Then and only then, would my yard get done with just one charge. Until then, this product is only good for those with manicured lawns already like the infomercial "golf grass" if you will.

Trimmer-Edger
Difficult to assemble. Feeding problems with the factory installed cutting wire spool, to the point that I had to replace it with one of the spares. The original that was installed at the factory was useless. I've followed the trouble-shooting steps written in the manufacturer's manual, but it did not work as expected.

Battery Solution
I purchased the Worx 24-Volt trimmer in spring 2010, and as many others have reported, I also experienced the failure of the batteries to charge after about a month or so of use. I have two batteries because I also bought the hedge trimmer separately. Both batteries failed. I contacted Worx via e-mail from their website, and after some time, I assumed they would never respond. Finally, they did respond and explained to me how to return the batteries for replacement. When I received the replacement batteries, I decided not to store them in my garage thinking the high temperatures may be a contributing factor. So far this has worked for me. Both replacement batteries are running strong, and I am now pleased with this product. When a battery runs down, I allow it to cool off before putting it on the charger. During the off season I put the batteries on the charger once every month or two to keep the charge (they don't have a memory effect). These tips should have been provided in the WORX manual.

worx trimmer
I'm very disgusted with the battery from Worx. It's useless and serve's no purpose whatsoever when it takes more time to recharge the battery than using it. If I would of known this I would not of bought it that's for sure

Terrible Battery Life: Great Product
After watching the infomercial many times, I really wanted this product. I ordered it in the Spring of 2010 and loved it from the very first use. A few months later, the battery would no longer take a charge. Having had the same issues as everyone else (waiting on hold for customer service FOREVER), I finally spoke with someone who said that they would send me a new battery at no charge, which they did. I was only able to use the trimmer a few times in the fall before winter came.
This summer (we didn't have a spring this year), it worked great for 2 months, then the battery quit charging again.
I just now found a place on their website that allows you to quickly find out if you can get a free replacement battery: http:www.worxbattery.com (you will need to have your battery with you to enter the serial #)
If you qualify, simply provide your contact information, and it states that they will ship it to you.
I'm wondering how often I will have to go through this process, and how long will they continue to provide me with free batteries (supposedly valued at $100).

Sorry battery
Got my Worx GT after re-sodding my lawn in July 2010. I used it up until fall and lawn went dormant. Spring 2011 came around, first cut on lawn it worked fine, second cut battery lasted 10 minutes. I recharged it and it lasted for 20 feet of trimming. I've been recharging and recharging ever since March it is now June.
I finally scrapped it and am going back to a real trimmer. Don't waste your money on that piece of junk. Worx should return everyone's money cause we all got robbed. They always say buyers beware and that's true with the Worx gt trimmer.

Battery doesn't last
on may 31st I purchased the Worx GT couldn't wait to get it so I could start trimming my yard. Got it charged it up, that lasted about 20 minutes. What a piece of junk, if you thought about it, take my advice don't waste your money. This is a gimmick to get your money, & once they get it they don't answer your calls so you can get the labels necessary to return it. Don't waste your time or your money.

Terrible Battery
Purchased wg165 in Aug 2010, still in one year warranty. Tried to use it this year and it had no charge. I called Worx and I was number 70 on the call list. I sent 2 e-mails without getting any response. I would not recommend dealing with Worx based on my experience.

Worx 24 volt string trimmer
The problem is the battery which lasted only one season! Complete disappointment. The tool itself is good but the battery--horrible.

WORX does not work
The trimmer worked well the first year. This year the battery will not stay charged for more than a few minutes. Had to buy a gas trimmer to get the job done.

John
Bought this string trimmer last summer. Used it 6 times, no more than 20 minutes each time. This unit was stored inside for the winter. I charged the 24 volt lithium battery and the light was green. Attached the battery and it barely turns the trimmer. Piece of junk, very dissapointed

Battery Pack
While I am satisfied with the overall performance of the Trimmer Edger tool, the 24-volt Lithium-ion battery pack does not perform to specifications advertised. After 4 complete charges, I am getting only around 15 minutes of battery life. This is less than the older style battery. The new style battery was my reason for purchasing the new unit. I am disappointed to say the least. Thank You.
