I don't believe the battery holds it charge long enough. I trimmed my walk and driveway, it was dead. I would like to know how long it is guaranteed for. I had one in my original trimmer that did not seem to last very long. Does it drain the power if it is left in the charger or the trimmer? It works great as a walk or driveway trimmer, but not so good as a weed eater.

Worthless Battery... Rip-off.
The lithium battery lasted...or should I say never lasted. It afforded about 20 minutes at first use. Now it lasts less than 30 seconds. I think we are all in for some kind of adjustment. If not , I will never buy another WORX product. I am talking specifically about the trimmer, and it's 18 volt lithium battery. Save your money . I do not recommend.

The battery does not hold a charge
I found that originally the battery would work for about 20 minutes. Now it lasts about 20 seconds, even though the charger shows that it is fully charged. Very disappointing.

Same story here. This thing worked great for one month. Now battery is shot! Worx will get no more of my business. I'll go buy a whole new trimmer elsewhere.

Battery
Used trimmer one season, in a small yard. I had to keep charging the battery every 15 minute's and now this season it doesn't charge at all. I will not pay a big price for another battery. I'm elderly and live on a close budget, so I can't afford to spent money each season on something as expensive as the trimmer was and now a costly battery that doesn't hold charge....I'm very upset with this situation.

I have a very small area to mow and trim. I like the trimmer but the battery died after only one season.
Either I had a defect or these things will be a money pit.

Lithium Battery 18v WA3512
I apparently am not the only person with the issue of the battery. Nor can I find anyone to help me. I purchased the 3 in 1 weed trimmer last year for a father's day gift for my husband and this year I tried to use it and the battery is not working, so I have to use my electric weed eater (which I love-minus the cord) Too bad I didn't know this prior to purchasing the Worx weed eater 3 in 1. I am not buying another battery after reading all the comments. I do believe the Worx company owes us a battery. How do you go about that?

Battery Solution
I purchased the Worx 24-Volt trimmer in spring 2010, and as many others have reported, I also experienced the failure of the batteries to charge after about a month or so of use. I have two batteries because I also bought the hedge trimmer separately. Both batteries failed. I contacted Worx via e-mail from their website, and after some time, I assumed they would never respond. Finally, they did respond and explained to me how to return the batteries for replacement. When I received the replacement batteries, I decided not to store them in my garage thinking the high temperatures may be a contributing factor. So far this has worked for me. Both replacement batteries are running strong, and I am now pleased with this product. When a battery runs down, I allow it to cool off before putting it on the charger. During the off season I put the batteries on the charger once every month or two to keep the charge (they don't have a memory effect). These tips should have been provided in the WORX manual.

Worx - No customer support
I purchased both a 18 volt trimmer and blower last summer. I bought both with the lithium battery, so when one was charging, I could use the other interchangeably. After about 2 months of light use one of the 2 batteries failed to hold a charge.
I contacted Worx customer service and got the immediate "we will get back to you". They never did. This summer I tried to get by with one battery. It also failed after 2 charges. I again contacted Worx customer service about one month ago, and again I've had no response. Never buy a thing from this company - they provide zero support for what appears to me to be failed battery system.

Waste of money
Before I read these reviews I thought that my battery issue was an isolated incident. I see now that the battery is truly a problem - a waste of money. The product (trimmer) I bought last year I thought was great. However, last fall I called Worx for new line, which you are supposed to get free for life, and to date it has never arrived. Last month when I attempted to charge the battery, it never charged. I was considering buying a replacement battery because I mistakenly thought that surely it was going to be at a reasonable cost. I found out today that the cost is only 20.00 less than a whole new unit! On top of that, based on the reviews here, the replacements are of poor quality, too. What a waste of money this trimmer was.

Worx GT edger and trimmer, blower, hedge trimmer rechargeable 18
I ordered these products as on seen TV and also ordered 2 battery packs and charger. It is advertised that they are long lasting and that is not true. I barely got started on trimming or edging and the battery started dying out. I would charge one battery as I used the other. Then not long after the purchase, the one battery would not recharge and finished the season last summer with only the one working battery. Come this spring, I used the tools with the one working battery maybe 4 times and the battery would not recharge like the first one. To replace a battery is very expensive and if I purchase another one, who knows how long it will last. So I have these tools that I can't use and paid a lot of money for them. My reason purchasing them was so I could do my lawn work because of their light weight and not having a long electrical cord as I have an acre property and I have Multiple Sclerosis. Needless to say, it did not deliver what it promised and advertised and I am not happy about it and a bit annoyed.

Battery wont last as advertised
Original purchase was 7/15/10, with two batteries. From day one, one battery would last about 20-30 seconds. The other about 4 minutes. This year, one battery will not charge, the other is 20 seconds. Their batteries are a dud, and the company knows it. I will never purchase a "WORX" product again.

Worx Battery
Battery would not recharge during the first year that I bought it. I called the customer service Ph # and they replaced it without question. I started to use the trimmer this year and the same thing has happened, the battery will not charge. Therefore, lending the trimmer useless. I want all of my money back. It's a rip off.

Worx 18 volt battery burn-out, etc.
Yeah. I had the same problem with the original battery for the unit that I bought last year. It seemed to work alright for a season, then, when I tried again in February, the battery lasted about 30 seconds. There's no excuse for this. The Worx company must be cutting corners on its quality control, because, with these batteries, there IS NO QUALITY!
I called up the Worx outfit and the support lady told me that they would send me an upgraded, new 24 volt Lithium battery with instructions for sending back the worthless piece of junk that lasted about 7 or 8 starts last year.
Instead of getting the promised "upgrade" to 24 volts, the Worx company sent me another 18 volt Lithium. So far, I used it on 4 occasions and it puts in a satisfactory performance.
Because of the battery problems and the numerous identical reports within this thread of reviews, I think I'll skip a Worx product if I need to buy something else, and until consumers give better reviews for a higher quality battery.

Sorry Worx Lithium Battery 18 Volt-WA3512
I bought the Worx Trimmer and Edger about a year ago at Sears. I liked the concept of how it worked and the light weight. I have not used the unit very much last summer and I wanted to use this season but the battery won't charge, and it runs for only a few seconds and cuts off. I went back to Sears and they said they could not do any thing about it, they don't even have replacement batteries. They stated they could order me a new battery at the cost of 99.00 plus tax. I told them I would not pay that amount because I did not pay that much for the unit. I informed them that the unit was supposed to have a 2 year warranty on the battery but it did not do any good. I have just read the reviews on line about the battery no one thinks they are any good.

Worx Battery is a dud
This is our second year to have a Worx trimmer. It is wonderful!!! It is a wonderful piece of junk. The battery has never held a charge. The Worx TV advertisement says you can trim around a football field... it is more like around a football. We have called service and have stayed on the line waiting for a service rep for at least a 12 hour every time. Everyone must be waiting for help with their Worx. We have wasted more time and money on this piece of equipment. Sure glad my old one still works. It's a Stihl.

Worx Trimmer Battery BAD
I am in the same boat as all the other reviewers. I bought this trimmer less than a year ago based on the TV infomercials. It worked one summer and when I brought it out this spring, it worked about 5 minutes and died. When I put it back on the charger all I get is a blinking red light which indicates a bad battery. After reading all these reviews I will not buy another Worx product. If there customer service will send me a free replacement fine. But if it does the same thing I will be chucking this thing in the trash and buying a gas powered trimmer. Very BAD product!!

I purchased A WORX edger/trimmer after seeing advertisement indicating that the charge would hold to complete an entire football field. I am lucky to be able to trim 10 blades of grass before the charge is totally gone. I have 2 batteries. One only worked the first season and the new one rarely holds a charge. Unfortunately I am unable to use this without a battery and have paid for the equipment more than twice trying to get the battery to hold a charge. I PERSONALLY FEEL THE LEAST WORX COULD DO, ESPECIALLY SINCE THIS IS AN OBVIOUS PROBLEM WITH NUMEROUS CUSTOMERS, THAT WORX SHOULD OFFER A CREDIT TOWARD A MORE EFFICIENT RELIABLE PRODUCT, or at least a refund for the inadequate batteries.

Batteries High Priced Junk
Bought the WORX string trimmer and in less than one season the lithium batteries went out. After buying 2 batteries I could buy a gas trimmer or a Ryobi battery string trimmer that uses the Ryobi tool lithium batteries. Worx is over advertised and worthless because of the battery issue.

I own two of the leaf vacs and I bought extra batteries. Every battery I bought was dead when I brought

Bad battery
I have had the trimmer for two years and have probably used it 20 times and the battery functioned fine. Then this last time the battery would not hold a charge and kept dying and the charger would not even charge it. The charger would just blink after about 10 seconds. I have looked all over for the battery even at Home Depot, which was supposed to carry WORX product and could not find it. Even Kmart carries WORX product but not the battery. I find it very unfair of the company to sell a product that relies so heavily on the battery and the battery is unable to support the product in question. I now have to buy a battery that is a third of the cost of the machine itself. I feel that the battery needs to be replaced with one that works, and the people who have supported your product should be given one of them.

Worx Batteries Do Not Last
I purchased two Worx batteries last year. One still works for 20 minutes or so, and the second will run for a minute or less. Worx is obviously using cheap, sub-standard batteries and selling them at inflated prices to make a buck. They do not care about damaging their brand.
I say sub-standard batteries because battery technology is such that this should never happen. Certainly not as frequent as we are seeing here.

I have bought four of these batteries and so far, one has lasted a year. At this point I have spent a lot more on batteries than the string trimmer I bought that uses these batteries.
