The Troy-Bilt TB590EC gas string trimmer/brushcutter is built to handle the toughest brush and vegetation Mother Nature can throw your way.
The Troy-Bilt TB590EC is powered by a 29cc 4-cycle engine. No more mixing oil and gas together before you start the engine. This 4-cycle engine also runs cleaner, and is more powerful than standard 2-cycle trimmer engines.
You will also appreciate the “smooth pull” starting system, which delivers remarkably easier pull starting.
The Troy-Bilt TB590EC has a bump head release that lets you advance the trimmer line but simply tapping the trimmer head on the ground. The 18-inch cutting swath is one of the widest on the market. You also get a standard 8-inch, 4-tooth brush blade when it’s time to tackle heavy vegetation.
The Troy-Bilt TB590EC has a professional style straight shaft which make it easy to reach under short trees and bushes. And the adjustable padded J-handle makes this trimmer easy to use whether you are right- or left-handed.

Junk after 20 uses
Bought mine from Lowes in April 2010. Use it maybe every 4th mowing, so possibly used a maximum 20 times since new. Worked fine once this year, then decided not to any more. After a new plug, a lot of starting fluid, I discovered that it wasn't getting a spark. Just paid another 10 bucks for a new switch...still no spark. Good luck tearing the thing apart. Like a Chinese puzzle. Not worth paying 70 bucks an hour to have it fixed. Will NEVER buy another Troy Bilt product. Should last longer than 2 seasons. Headed out to buy a Stihl.

Would not start
Product would not start. Lowes clerk said it was the third one returned within three hours for same reason. Going with Husqvarna.

A very good product. Assembled easily, and started easily. If one is under 6 feet tall, putting oil in the unit is a little awkward, but easily overcome with the aid of a step-stool. I like the brush cutter attachment. Not all weedeaters come with them, but this one does.

I used the trimmer for about 5 minutes and it started feeding line out until spool was empty. Refilled spool with recommended line and it did the same thing. Since I've had it longer than month I can't return it. So it's off to the repair shop for a week or so. Trash Don't buy one..

Had nothing but problems. Repaired twice. Froze up even though oil level was OK.
