Very Anal
Have had this mower two years...it is an awesome grass cutting machine. One pull nine out of ten times it starts. I get more compliments on how nice my grass looks and I owe it to the Troy-Bilt. I did read a comment about the grass catcher and how you lose some when detaching bag. Easy fix , just drag mower back 6 inches before starting out again...gee that's really tough. As for attaching and detaching it's not hard at all in my opinion. The mower does such an awesome job of mulching, unless... more

Take A Good Look At This One!
I had a break in and my Honda mower was taken. I wanted a replacement but could not afford a new Honda.

My "lawn" is mostly Quack Grass. If you keep it mowed, it looks OK. If you plant some nice grass, it soon is taken over by the quack grass. This grass is heavy and can be hard to mow. I do not need to share the power with driving the wheel, so I wanted a push mower that had the bigger engine of a self propelled mower.

I also liked the ability to change the way I use it.... more
Pros: Durable, Easy To Use, Price, Reliable

Poor Design Not Recommended
Design on grass catcher bag and mower is horrible. Grass will not shoot to rear of bag. It accumulates in front and a good portion falls out when removing the bag which is a pain in the ass to remove any way. Too much extra clean up, that is what the bag is for. I would not have bought this Troy-Bilt if I was aware of this issue. I had noticed a lot of mowers are of this design but I could have bought a cheaper one with the same results. Should have just bought a few new parts for my old Yard... more
Pros: Quiet
Cons: Low Quality, Difficult To Use, Expensive, Bag Is Difficult To Remove And Install Grass Falls Out All Over W
