Received mower from truck in good shape and inside a sturdy protective crate. Removed from crate, checked oil, put in gas and started immediately.
Motor ran well, engaged electric clutch for mower deck but it didn't work. Found disconnected electrical cable under motor and hooked it back together. Wife got on the mower since she usually cuts the grass and it ran for about 25 yards before freezing up. No belt squeal, it just stopped dead.
Pulled the transmission disconnect and pushed it back to where my tool box was. Restarted the motor immediately, moved forward hesitantly and then squealed to a stop. The transmission drive belt had shredded, locked around the motor drive pulley, and began dissolving in a cloud of smoke.
Took the mower to the closest dealer, 40 miles away, who I had called a few days earlier to see what he could do. He ordered a new drive belt over the phone. Drove the mower to the dealer in my farm trailer, who found out the belt he ordered was incorrect. Fortunately, he had the correct belt in stock so did not have to wait another three days and drive another 80 miles round trip.
All work and parts were covered under warranty. Brought mower home and mowed all the grass without a problem, so far. That's about a 4.5 - 5 hour chore. The mower ran and cut generally well using almost two full tanks of gas, but the electric clutch disconnects the blades if you hit a moderate bump, which is a nuisance issue.
The cutter deck left straggler seed scrapes, which can be fixed with the right brand of blade. The grass was taller than normal because of all the run around with the machine before it would finally do its job.
Seat is comfortable and is front to back adjustable. Overall workmanship appears good. If you get off the seat when the motor is running, the safety kill switch ends up stopping the motor in a way that sounds like a piston is going to go through the oil pan. This happened to me several times, all of which were scary experiences.
I suggest that if you know you have to get up, remember to turn the RPMs down, disconnect the blades, and then turn off the motor with the ignition switch. Might save you some first class grief.
My previous 45" Garden Way by Troy-Bilt with a Briggs and Stratton 22hp motor has run since 2003 and must have 100,000 hard grass-cutting miles on it. We cut grass here weekly for about 9 months a year. If this lasts as long as the Garden Way, I will be satisfied. I don't know what to expect from this machine now based on the initial experiences.

Received the mower within 4 days of placing my order
Received the mower within 4 business days of placing my order.
Because this mower was a 2009 model, the battery charge was very low. I placed the battery on charge for 30 minutes and the mower started immediately. The mower runs fine.
The only draw back is the forward/reverse foot pedal- poor design by Toro.

SATISFIED!
From the moment I first fired it up, I knew it would be a good thing.
The smooth V-twin engine takes so much of the harshness out of the work. The power is more than ample. It will go up any hill, cut through the thickest of my lawn with no problem.
I am, so far, completely satisfied. I highly recommend this product. I had a Store Brand product that I returned after 3 uses due to quality issues.
The moment I fired that one up, I was not happy with the harshness or the feel of it. You likely cannot touch the quality of this Toro for the money with any other product.

My Toro
My experience so far has been good, I paid by check therefore I had a five day waiting period before it was shipped.
The tractor arrived in good shape; all I had to do was connect the battery and put in gas.
The tractor is awesome, it cuts well and has plenty of power.
I would recommend Mowers Direct to a friend.

Great Mower
I am very happy with my new mower. I've already mowed my two fields, one about two acres and the other about six acres.
The second field is hilly and the road to it has a steep grade. The mower has plenty of power and zips right up it. I had a lot of weeds and small brush and it mowed right through all of it, plus does a nice job on the lawn too.
I am very pleased with the service I received from your company also. Good Job!!!

Fun machine with plenty of power
The tractor arrived in less than a week after ordering and was well crated with protective wood and plastic.
The only issue is the dead battery but the Customer Service Department was very helpful and willing to resolve the problem. I had to buy a new battery but was promised reimbursement.
I cut my grass for the first time the other day and was very pleased.
She's a fun machine with plenty of power.
MD RESPONDS: Dead batteries sometimes turn up on closeout models; we are always happy to help!

I believe this is a keeper
My ToroLX68 arrived on time and was packed very well.
After we removed it from the well-constructed crate and added gas, it was set to go. The directions were easy to understand. The power amazed me.
As I glanced at the 5 acres it would be mowing, I was confident that it could do the job. I am now waiting for the grass to grow so I can get out there and use this mean machine.
Needless to say, I believe this is a keeper.

Excellent Mower for the $$$$
This mower has great features: cruise control; need to mow in reverse? Simply turn the key back, press the triangle and voila!
The Kohler engine has great power, and I love the twin cylinders. The adjustable seat is also a great feature.
This mower cuts grass smooth and even, even in the tall overgrown stuff; the deck has a very large outlet and keeps the clippings flowing out.
You can not beat this Toro for the $$$$, it's well built and it appears it will hold up for years of mowing,
I would recommend this mower to anyone.

Business Owner Approves
I recently purchased the Toro LX 468 and I can say without reservation, this is one heck of a buy.
The large discharge area makes mowing deep grass a breeze. Also, you're talking about power here with a Kohler 22 Horse power mill that runs just fine.
When properly assembled it can compete with John Deere models in this price range without a problem. Moreover, the power to weight ratio is great and the three blades cut very well compared to a Cub Cadet 1554, Cub Cadet 1046 VT, etc.
I have owned several lawn and garden models, from Craftsman to a mega-John Deere 400 series and everything in between. So, if you're a home owner with a lawn up to 2 or 3 acres of decent turf, look no further for the money and buy this tractor.
For around 2099.00 you can ride with pride. Hydrostatic drive, a firm and comfortable ride, a beverage holder and side handles that cradle you work well.
Get going and grab one before they are gone! On the Best Sellers list and consumer rated a best buy for the money. Big red wins again with this new addition. Thanks Toro!
By the way, you will see more Toro products out on the golf course than any other mower period. End of story.

Not too sturdy
Only 2 years old and things are falling off. Now the battery won't charge. DOES ANYONE MAKE A MOWER THAT JUST PLAIN WORKS?!
