Toro TimeCutter Foot Assist HOC System (SS Series Models)

The foot assist is just that a real quick and easy way to raise and lower the deck.

If you have the mower deck set at say 3.0 inch cut you can press the pedal "and lift the deck" to avoid an object or to keep from scalping the lawn with out the need for anything else to be done. When object is clear of deck let the pedal back down and its at 3.0 again.

Not sure but believe the other review has the pedal setup wrong. Its easy and helps while in motion. While stopped you can use pedal to lift deck and then adjust the height adjuster then release the pedal...Nice option and worth the money!

I purchased a Toro Z4235 through Mowers Direct and it is awesome. Mowers Direct is great too. However, I also bought the Foot Assist HOC System and really wish I didn't waste my money on it.

I thought I could just use my foot to raise the mower deck quickly as I'm mowing if I come across an obstacle. But to use the Foot Assist, I also need to grab the mower Height Adjustment lever and unlock it.

To me that completely defeats the purpose of the foot assist. If I need to grab the lever, I might as well lift it at the same time.

The only people who would find this a "convenience" is someone who has arms so weak that they can't lift the mower deck without the foot assist attachment. Maybe your great-grandma would love it!

It's actually worse than that though because with it attached to my mower, it is a tripping hazard to watch out for whenever I get on or off the mower.
