A: Paul - the Toro 2-cycle string trimmers use a 50:1 gas to oil mix ratio.

 Toro weedeater

My "other name brand" trimmer lasted just about as long as they said it would (about 50 hours), then it died, for good, no repairable chance. I have a Toro straight shaft trimmer with the blade attachment that has about 5 years of hard use on it so I figured now was the time to get me another "good one." Only complaint about this one is that the debris shield is a little small. Weed cutting machine!

 Bad String Spool

The Toro Model 51954 weedeater is a fine working tool. The string spool is totally impossible to rethread. I was one and done. It does not come with decent directions and is not user friendly to replacing the cutting line. It needs an after market quick change spool.

 Nice Trimmer

I bought this trimmer 5 years ago and put it away in the barn. Today I went to pick it up, put fresh gas in it, and on the 5th pull it started right up. That tells you something about this trimmers quality.
