Q: This appears to be satisfactory for walks, decks, flower beds and not yards (we live in SW Florida). Since I don't do leaf blowing in our yard, is this adequate for the other uses?

What type of cord and can I use it 100 ft from recepticle?

A: Carl - for the tasks you have described, this would be a good choice in a hand held blower. This will handle your driveway, sidewalks and deck or patio with no problem. This blower has a 7 amp motor. For a blower using 6 to 10 amps (like this one), you would want to use a 14-gauge extension cord if working 50 feet to 100 feet from your electrical outlet. If you want to work more than 100 feet from our electrical outlet, you will want to move up to a 12-gauge extension cord to make sure you pull enough amps to get top performance from the blower. If you are working less than 50 feet from your electrical outlet, you can even use a 16-gauge cord. Make sure you are using an "outdoor" cord and not just a basic household extension cord.
