Q: Oil drain plug where is it by Dave from Michigan on August 18, 2011
A: Dave - the Toro Recycler mowers (including the 20334) do not have an oil drain plug. To drain the oil, you would (1) run the engine a few minutes before changing the oil to warm it. (2) move the mower to a level surface. (3) remove the dipstick. (4) tip the mower onto its side with the air filter up to drain the used oil out through the oil fill tube. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: I own a TORO 20330 ser#310058489. The top speed is too fast for me and it is difficult to hold the speed lever at the right speed. Can the top speed of this mower be adjusted slower? by Jame W. Norris from Wisconsin on June 14, 2011
A: James - The maximum self-propel ground speed on the Toro Recycler self-propelled mowers is fixed. To reduce the ground speed, increase the space between the self-propel drive bar and the handle. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: The Home Depot Store has an Atomic Replacement 22" blade. The store lists the model numbers of the mowers that this blade fits, but none of those numbers match my Toro model #20333. Is there a different blade for this lawn mower? I can't seem to find any blade that matches my lawnmower model. by Mary Ann from New York on May 31, 2011
A: Mary Ann - the Toro model #20333 mower uses a Toro #108-9764-03 mower blade. 20333 mower blade by Todd, Product Expert
Q: Hooking the hose to the mower deck doesn't get the grass off from underneath very well after mowing. I have to manually dig the grass out of the deck using a putty knife. Is there anything I can do to eliminate the need for this every time I mow? I wait until the grass is dry before mowing, but it still sticks to the deck and is moist.
Also, the mower builds up clumps of grass when mowing and I have to lift the deck & wait for the clumps to clear out, but then it leaves a bunch of grass on the spot where I stopped.
This is probably all related to the amount of rain we've been having and the inability to mow while grass is not very tall, but I just wondered if you had any tips, like is there some kind of spray I could use on the deck to keep the grass from sticking? At this point the deck is no longer "red" but rather dark with remnants of caked on grass.
The mower is about 2/3 years old, Model # 2033 with blade override.
Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

A: Mary Ann - there are several non-stick sprays that you can apply to the underside of your mower deck to prevent the grass from sticking to the deck and building up while you mow. Toro makes a very good non-stick spray you may want to consider. Toro non-stick spray by Todd, Product Expert

Best yet
I am 76 years old so I have had many mowers. This is the best yet. I actually look forward to mowing my lawn.
I brought it home and assembled it, put in the oil, filled the gas tank, turned the on button to On, pulled the starter rope once, and it started. I usually can start it with just one pull. ( except when I forget to turn the off/on button to on- remember I'm 76).
I love the blade override, and the walk along speed control. The only negative thing I found was the hose port. I can lift the deck with one hand and wash it with the hose better and quicker. It takes me longer to try and get the hose attached.
I highly recommend this mower.

Worse mower I've ever owned
Worked about three times. Never started again.

Warranty Problem
Seriously the dumbest purchase I ever made- the mower lasted three cuts and fell apart. Wheels came off, drive system locked up.
I called the Toro service rep (Frames) in Chester County Pa, and they said they wouldn't fix it because I didn't buy it there. Going in the trash can. I'm out like $500 bucks.
MD RESPONDS: Toro's warranty policy is that a Toro Authorized Service Facility has to do the warranty repair, no matter where it's purchased.
We contacted Toro on your behalf; they are sending the parts you need directly to you at no charge.
They will also contact the folks at Frame's and review their Warranty Policy.
For the future, the Service Locator on our web site shows several other service locations close by- West Chester Lawn & Garden; Brandywine Ace Hardware, also in West Chester- as well as 6 others in outlying towns.
There's no need to go where you won't get good service!

What's Blade Override?
Think about your old lawnmower. Every time you let go of the handle the engine shut off.
Move a ball. Shut off the engine.
Pick a weed. Shut of the engine.
Release the handle of any reason and the engine shuts off for safety.
But... if the blade isn't spinning, there aren't any hazards.
Basically, Toro's blade override system allows the engine to keep running but stops the blade from spinning.
Yes, it's convenient.
The better benefit, however, is reduced wear on the engine, which doesn't like to start and stop every three minutes.
With blade override, you'll cut your grass faster, and extend the life of your engine.
