Q: hi Todd, what are the dimensions on the Swisher (52") 18.5 HP Tow Behind Rough Cut for storage and transporting unit. Thanks
by Derick Mooney from New York on February 28, 2012
A: Derick
The dimensions are 65 inches long, 75 inches wide, and 35 inches high. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: I have a pond with steep banks and a flat trail around it. I would like to ride safely on the flat trail and use the pull behind at a sharp side angle to the waters edge six feet down and to the side. Is the draw bar long enough and can the engine work at a sharp angle? by Jon Swanson from Illinois on October 29, 2011
A: Jon - it is not recommended that you run any of the Swisher tow-behind mowers on a bank or slope that is greater than 15 degrees of slope. All of these mowers have a "splash" type lubrication system, and running them on slopes more severe than 15 degrees may cause the oil to not fully lubricate all the engines parts. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: Hi, I have a 3 acre piece of land that must be cut twice a year for weeds. The weeds vary in type but are usually about 3 feet high. No grass, just lots of weeds. The land is totally flat with no obstructions. Will this do the job and cut the weeds down? If not, what would you recommend? by Nelson from California on July 24, 2011
A: Nelson - this Husqvarna tractor definitely will NOT handle 3 foot tall weeds. For this type of task, you would need a Swisher tow-behind trail cutter. Click on the link and open up any of the models to watch a video of this machine in action: Swisher Trail Cutter You will need a tractor or an ATV to tow a Swisher trail cuter. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: CAN I MOW HILL SIDES WITHOUT A PROBLEM WITH ENGINE OIL LUBE by TIM from Iowa on May 16, 2011
A: Tim - it all depends on the slope of the hills you want to mow. This mower does not have a full pressure lubrication system, so the oil pressure will drop off if you are mowing on hills or inclines of more than about 25 degrees. by Todd, Product Expert
The Swisher RTB18552 TrailCutter tow-behind, rough cut mower steps it up a notch in terms of clearing brush and overgrown vegetation from your property.
This rugged Trailcutter can clear the densest undergrowth with ease, cutting most tree stems up to 2 inches in diameter. The powerful Briggs & Stratton Intek 18.5HP engine features an electric start system that fires up this mower with the simple turn of a key.
The 4-wheel in-set cutting deck will handle the roughest terrain, allowing you to get closer to fences and buildings while mowing. The 52” cutting deck is constructed of 1/8” welded steel. Four puncture resistant tires glide smoothly over the roughest terrain and will keep right on rolling no matter what you run over.
The Swisher RTB18552 TrailCutter also has a remote console with the throttle control, ignition and PTO switch. This console mounts to most tow vehicles, and a flexible conduit allows the user to mount the console almost anywhere on the tow vehicle for added convenience.
