Q: Would this be ideal to use if i have a sloped back yard? Or can I cut it sides ways instead of up and down the slope may be a 10 to 20 % slope
by Roland Perez from Texas on March 05, 2016

A: Roland - you would not be able to mow across the face of your sloped back yard with a Snapper RE130 rear engine riding mower. You would most likely experience traction issues - especially if the grass is wet. As for mowing up and down your slope, this mower is designed to mow on about a 15% max grade.
by Jose, Product Expert
Q: Does this model stand on end to make it easier to store and sharpen blades?
by David from Texas on May 09, 2015

A: David - the current Snapper rear engine rider models do not have the stand-on-end feature any longer
by Jose, Product Expert
Q: Does the deck on the Snapper RE210 have wheels to prevent scalping?
Also, I had a 28 Snapper riding mower about 20 years ago that had two bars across the back to protect the engine, the rear bagger fit on, and also allowed two people to pick the front of the mower up and rest it on those two bars to allow a person to clean under the deck. Does this mower have that feature or provisions for attaching a garden hose to clean the deck?

by Bob Schultz from Michigan on April 12, 2015

A: Bob - the Snapper rear engine riding mowers do not have anti-scalp wheels on the mower deck. And the Snapper rear engine riders no longer have the "stand on end" feature either.

Snapper Mower
I was surprised how well it was crated. Assembled easily. This mower was bought for mowing grass around head stones at a cemetery. Only used once so far but it preformed well. My landscaper liked the all steel construction, no plastic.

Huge Disappointment.
Never owned a riding lawnmower, remembering the snapper brand from back in the day, I am 64. I purchased the RE 130 for our new home about a 1/3 acre. I have used it about 12 times, in the shop for second time for drive discs, not pulling, after going in reverse, clutch is total free play.

I have to get off of the mower, reach under the back of the mower to pull on a bar. After the third time just mowing the front, I packed it up and brought it back. Dealer will fix the problems, and then... more

Bad Choice
Bad choice-steering is like driving 1937 Mack truck and the shifting is very difficult. I'm 79 years old and this is the worst riding mower that I ever owned.

Snapper Re130 Is A Failure
I purchased a Snapper RE130 from the local Snapper authorized dealer about two years ago. It was something that I will always regret. One problem after another. The RE130 can't even mow normal height grass without bogging down because of the unusually large and heavy 33" blade.

The RE130 would intermittently stop and I would have to restart it. Finally, the RE130 quit working period. Worst mower that I've ever owned. If you want a rear engine rider then purchase the Troy-Bilt TB30R. I... more

Mower Failed To Meet Expectations
Replaced a Honda Harmony 1011 with the Snapper RE130 (33"). The 19 year old Honda still runs and has been the best riding mower I have ever owned (have owned two Snappers). The RE130 is difficult to maneuver around our shrubbery and trees, cannot back the mower up without engaging an override switch. If you attempt to leave the RE130 in gear the speed will continue to increase even though throttle setting stays the same. You have to disengage the gear and ride with one hand on gear... more
Pros: Durable
Cons: Difficult To Use, Expensive, Failed To Meet Expectations, You Pay For The Snapper Name

33" Rider With Questions
I purchased this unit last year during a severe drought so we have only used it about 6 times. I have owned (and sold Snappers) since the late 70's before retiring. My 28" Hi Vac was awesome!

This unit is beyond disappointing!
1. The parking brake was difficult to engage & this week, the plastic knob broke off while setting it.
2. To attach the side chute for the bagger assy. onto the mower deck is virtually impossible with the stiff plastic and trying to get it to line up... more

Disappointing Mower
I recommend avoiding this Snapper mower. I have had it under two years and use it to mow a flat 1/4-acre lawn. It has had problems ranging from uncontrollable speed, broken seat safety switch, broken parking brake knob, and defective blade interlock device.

The Snapper repair center manager, who now knows me by name, said to avoid Snapper products with the "new" design because they are plagued by problems.
Cons: Low Quality, Unreliable, Durability

Very Very Disappointed
I purchased my Snapper last year and it has been in the shop more than I have used it. It was brand new but I think it is truly a lemon. If I had it to do over again, I would have never bought a snapper.

Great Mower
The snapper arrived in very good condition. It was packed in a wooden crate that protected it from shipping damage.

The unpacking process took me a couple of hours. I had to put the front wheels on and the seat and the steering wheel on. I also had to grease the front wheels and level the deck.

I leveled the deck after I cut the grass so I could see if it made a difference. The deck leveling process is somewhat time consuming and tedious. I knew this, so I waited. The snapper handles... more
