Best 21" Mower Made
This is the most durable, rugged 21" mower I have ever seen. It has steel wheels, pressurized oil system for hilly terrain, ninja blade mulching system, a very solidly built drive system, welded deck and the best overall mower in this category you will find. Well worth the cost, you really do get what you pay for.

Snapper 7800847
Purchased from P.E.D. couple of months ago and service and delivery could not have been easier.

Set mower up, which was not bad, but more than most mowers take but worth it. Now I have been able to use the mower three times and am completely satisfied. Mower is very quiet and smooth running. This mower is a little heavier than most, but it is considered commercial and should be built to last. The cut is great and self propel variable speed is great. It can be adjusted to where it does not... more

Buying A Mower To Last Decades When Most Mowers Won't.
The title is my aim, anyway. As I looked toward replacing my 12 year old Craftsman push mower that still starts first pull, runs fine, cuts as well as new (but needs to be pushed and I now have hills) I was was in for a shock. New consumer mowers:
- Have cheap quality plastic wheels and plastic tread that fall off, tread wears out on grass, and/or gears that strip.
- Have cheap quality hardware, and lots of plastic
- Have switched to cheap chinese-parted and/or built engines that have... more

I Pretty Much Agree With Most Of The Reviews Here
Opened the box. Missing some nuts that are necessary for assembly, but had extra assembly parts not needed for my model. Instructions are not good. Didn't come with any oil like other mowers. Had to run out and buy a couple of quarts. Can't tell if the transmission has the correct quantity of 00 Snapper grease in it. That stuff is expensive and from what I read doesn't mix well with other brands. This 00 grease is very important for the transmission, so I had to order some more online. more
Pros: Features, Easy To Use, Quiet, Pretty Good Design
Cons: Bad Instructions, Expensive, Some Cheap Parts

After 6m Of Looking, Glad I Bought This
Well, if you are like me finding a lawn mower is not easy. Features appear the same, no clear HP / torque comparison? Who is good quality. I have a 20 degree 1 acre rough farm yard to cut.

Looked for 6m. Needed side discharge, largest engine. Didn't want a huge Billy Goat (aka old Gravely). Looked at all sorts, Craftsman, Honda, had a Husq for 6m which was absolute garbage (paint came off, cord frayed, side chute broke x3). What to do?

Then you add the ethanol problem - manuals say... more
Pros: I'd Buy It Again
Cons: Expensive

Quality Control??
Mowers Direct and the freight carrier were great! The mower came quick without a mark on the box. However, like Jimmy my handles had taken paint off the deck.

I agree with others that assembly is not a small task. A detailed diagram of the proper cable routing should be included.

Missing Parts:
4-1/4-20 x1/2 torx screws
1-1/4-28 jam nut
1-5/16 flat washer

Factory Assembly Issues:
The front axle nuts were not threaded all the way on. My mower's transmission arrived EMPTY. ... more

Snapper Commercial Mulch Mower
So far so good, have used it 3 times now and my next door neighbor used it twice while his mower is in the shop. He likes it too.

He commented that it was the smoothest drive system he has experienced. It cuts the clippings finer than I have seen before. The mower, though fairly heavy, rolls easy on the large steel wheels. Looks to be well built and sturdy.

The assembly was not a small task, but was easy enough. Just watch to get the cables, etc. so they are routed over or under... more

How Do You Like Your Mower?
I don't know how I like my mower because it has been in the shop since the day I got it. Snapper has some quantity control issues. I need this mower but for three weeks we have been waiting for parts. The self propelled unit drive pulleys are off 1/4 inch so it tore the edges off the belt right away. Make one pass on the yard the belt falls off. Make another pass the belt falls off. So on and so on. This is my first and last Snapper. Customer service through Snapper is poor. Six days to get a... more

Can Take The Texas Turff
I read the other reviews and was surprised this mower rated only a "B"... I saw it at my local repair shop (who swears by Snapper and they repair everything) after I killed off my 21 year old Honda HRV commercial grade. A Honda commercial grade not available on this site so went with this Snapper to replace my Honda when I hit a newly placed (and unknown) survey pin, placed right next to an old ground level stoop that kept it from moving at all, bending the blade and shaft beyond a... more

Nice Mulching Mower
The deck was bent where the grass chute plug is installed. The transmission went bad after mowing my back yard and beginning the front. The local Snapper dealer installed a new transmission and it works great now. I wish the grass chute plug was metal instead of plastic.

Well Built
First thing I noticed was sturdy construction. Felt hefty but not overly. Lift and cut is excellent. Started on first pull out of the box.

Only reason for not getting 5 stars is that it didn't ship with an oil supply likes others do and the self propelled is a variable vs fixed speed and has a tendency to slow down when going up hill or mowing very high grass.

These are small points that don't detract from the overall quality.
