Snapper P217020B (21") 190cc HI-VAC® Self-Propelled Lawn Mower

I have owned a Snapper Walk Behind mower for years and was always happy with the performance I received up until I bought this mower.

The mower arrived with no damage and was a snap to put together, however, that is where the good points end. The problems I am currently having are -

The self propelled feature always goes to fast which is over 4 mph regardless of the speed you set it for. You can actually watch the control move from slow to full speed before your eyes. Not good when you need to go around trees and other objects in the yard.

The other issue with the self propelled feature was the fan belt slipped off the pully thus not allowing the mower to be stopped. Take this with the over 4 mph speed issue and you have a problem. The only way to stop the mower is to stop the motor.

I was lucky I saw this issue and was able to correct it for the time being, however, the speed control is still a problem.

I sent Todd an e-mail and he suggested taking it to a repair center and gave me 3 names. You should not have to do this with a Brand New Mower.

I called the help line he suggested however it has been almost 2 weeks now and they have not called me back.

My suggestion would be to NOT purchase this mower.

Very unsatisfied.
