Q: Respectfully request if the Snapper Model 7800786 as shown on your web site is ready for mulching , or do we need to purchase an additional mulching kit. Your reply and comments are appreciated. by Mary Ann from Louisiana on January 11, 2012
A: Mary Ann
This mower is not ready for mulching initally. The kit compatible for this mower to make it mulch capable is model 7600100. That is the kit that will convert this mower to mucl capable. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: Does the grass catches come with Snapper Model 7800784? by Ronald Currier from Wyoming on July 10, 2011
A: Ronald - the grass catcher is NOT included with any of the Snapper rear engine riding mowers. The grass catcher has to be purchased separately.
The Snapper 7800784 rear engine riding mower offers a great alternative to a traditional push mower. Mowing the lawn in hot summer heat isn’t much fun, so riding your mower instead of pushing it around your yard can be a welcome and relaxing option.
The Snapper 7800784 will help you give your yard a pristine, golf-course-quality appearance. This mower not only cuts the grass. The powerful Hi-Vac system literally sucks up grass clippings, leaves, and pine needles from your lawn.
The Snapper 7800784 doesn’t have the tight turning radius found on some other rear-engine riders, but the design does offer a combination of quick-response steering and a pivoting frame, which will let you make quick turns and maneuver around obstacles.
The Snapper 7800784 rear engine riding mower features a robust 11.5 HP Briggs & Stratton engine, which moves the mower up to a fairly speedy 4.5 miles per hour. The cutting height can be adjusted from 1.5 to 4 inches, and you’ll appreciate the “stand-on-end” capability, which allows you to balance the mower on its rear for cleaning, storage, or repair.

I have had "Lawn Tractor's" when I had large lawns, never cared for the cut. Have a smaller but good size yard. I have a Toro 21 inch mulch mower that is great.
The Snapper RE with the Ninja Blade does a good job mulching. I use the Toro to trim, then cut with the Snapper. Does not turn well "like a tractor" but shift on the fly is great.
For the money a good mower.

11.5hp 28" rear enging riding lawn mower
It didn't take long to discover this mower does not turn very sharply which necessitates multiple changes of direction using the gear selector. Every time the gear selector is needed in reverse the lock out will not allow the gear change until the blade is first stopped. I realize this is a safety feature to prevent kids from getting mowed down "literally" but I don't have any young kids around. I have decided to permanently disable the reverse lock out to be able to utilize the transmission in an efficient manner.
The mower makes an excellent cut and vacuums very hard which I really like. I bought the single bagger at the same time as the mower and was amazed at how much it picks up and how much it holds. This mower is a backup to my 27 year old, two cycle, starts first pull every time, 20" Commercial, chrome cylinder, Lawn Boy lawn mower. I am using the riding mower to mow everything but the hard to get to grass around the edges. At 65 years old, the summer heat here in Texas is getting to much for me which I hope the Snapper will allow me to continue cutting my own yard for many more years.
I was missing 4 bolts with the mower which I had to purchase at Ace Hardware Store. The instructions are TERRIBLE!!! The parts in the instruction pictures do not look anything like the actual parts which makes determining what goes where just that more difficult. This is too easy to fix to continue to allow these simple picture changes to detract from what should be a fun assembly for those who want to do it themselves.
The crating was so good I could not tear it apart with a hammer and pry bar so I cut it apart with a circular saw. I am now looking for a ball hitch so I can use the mower to move a small trailer around my yard to allow cutting around it. Any suggestions?
In filling out the rebate/warranty it asks for Model Name but does not tell you what model name your mower is. Should be some mention in the paperwork of the name of the model. This is also an easy fix if Snapper is interested in helping their customers to submit the proper information. At least give an example what the model name should look like.

The snapper experience
My snapper was delivered promptly, within 5 days of order!! The limited assembly requirements were appreciated as I am not much of a handyman....added gas and oil to proper levels and she cranked right up.....mowed the whole yard 3/15/12, and was pleased with performance....hope to get many years of service from this little workhorse.

Peppy Snapper
So far I love my Snapper. It takes off like a bullet. I have to use the slower gear, or take off in the woods. Very peppy and gives an even cut. It also turns on a dime.

Awesome mower, BUT......
I love my Snapper mower, but it has two big problems. #1) you can't go in reverse without stopping the mower. I know, I know there's a safety concern backing up with a spinning mower but c'mon! No matter how small your yard is you will find this a big inconvenience. #2) the turning radius is terrible! Seriously, Snapper needs to do better. I drive nearly twice as far as a zero turn.
Despite the above problems I still love this mower! The hi-vac suction is amazing. It's built to outlast all competitors plus plenty of power.

Flat areas and smooth ground only
Hey be careful using this little mower. Uneven ground with undulations causes this thing to jerk everywhere, especially with the independent suspension. Hang on and hang on tight!! Don't pop the clutch going up a hill, come right over backwards. Keep the tires inflated, more than once have had to re-seat the tubeless tires from turning to strong. Overall, very strong motor, starts easily, cuts great, Just keep it simple.

Assembly was easy, but I had to unbolt the throttle control to get the cable from under the bar that holds the back of the mower deck up before I could start the mower. Operation is different from a regular lawn tractor, but doesn't take long to get used to, the Ninja mulcher really works well, I have always been a bagger guy but will never go back to bagging now.

I bought this mower for my father-in-law, who had flipped his Yardbug on a small hill behind his house. This mower outperformed all expectations. With its single blade, it almost gives a perfect cut, and it starts easily and has plenty of power. My 14 year old daughter recently borrowed it to cut my half acre and had no trouble maneuvering it. I could not allow her use my older Ariens because it slips a lot on the hill but this little mower handles terrain like a mountain goat. I highly recommend it.
