Q: Hi Todd,
I have about an acre to cut, with some hills, but mostely flat. Which model do you recommend and I'm worried about the deck strength. Do I need a welded or will a stamped deck be ok.

A: Something like this would be more than capable to do what you have. The only reason to go with something bigger would be if you wanted to get the job done faster, but depending on what kind of obstacles you may have, I think a 46" would be more versatile if you have any tight areas.

In terms of a fabricated deck or a stamped deck. The fabricated deck is more ideal in a longevity term, but it can also depend on the demands you put on the mower itself. Yes a fabricated deck is a stronger deck, but even stamp decks don't wear out for a long time unless you were using commercially and putting tons of stress. If you are looking to use this on just your property, I would say a stamp deck would be more than ok, but it can also come down to a matter of preference. Something to consider, but not something to agonize over.
