Great Mower
The mower is great. I have a professional grade Snapper that has a transmission problem, but this mower is fine for my yard. I also have a lawn care business and am familiar with Snapper products.

One Pull Start?
Forget about one pull start. Works sometimes when engine is cold. If engine is hot forget it, go drink a beer and wait for engine to cool then it will start. I would not buy another one.

Solid Mower At A Great Price!
This is a well built mower that started with the first pull out of the box.

The one wheel height adjustment is a real plus.

Even my son likes using it!

Really Like The Variable Speed Control
I really like the variable speed control; it's very easy to slow the unit down for obstacles, trees, landscape, thick patches of grass, and also 180 degree u-turns.

Impossible To Maintain Constant Forward Speed
I have been using Snapper Mowers for over 20 years and was mulching my grass most of that time and have always been quite satisfied with them.

Because of my age (83) I decided to buy a new mower and this is what I bought. The thing that I dislike about this mower is the Wheel Drive control.

Because the lever is squeezed to engage the transmission it is impossible to maintain a constant forward speed. A rough lawn and a thicker growth of grass has an effect on the speed because it... more

Melvin,
Controlling the speed of the mower with a lever lets you slow down for thicker grass patches so the blades can work efficiently.

You may wish to give the folks at Snapper Technical Support a call at (800) 935 2967 to see if they have any tips for setting the speed to meet your needs.
