12 Questions
Q: is there any finance offers by James from South Carolina on July 12, 2011
A: James - we do not offer any type of consumer financing. We do offer the "Bill Me Later" program through PayPal which does offer you no interest on your purchase if you pay within six months. Please click on this link for more details about Bill Me Later: Bill Me Later by Todd, Product Expert
Q: There seems to be conflicting answers to various questions about whether or not there are rollers front and back on this deck. Are there rollers and is this the same deck as on the zt4000? by Rock from New Jersey on June 09, 2011
A: Rock - the Simplicity ZT3500 does NOT have gauge wheels on the front of the deck, nor does it have the rollers on the rear of the deck. The actual mower deck is the same deck as on the ZT4000 - it just doesn't have gauge wheels or the rear rollers. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: Does this model have anti-scalp rollers on the front of the deck? What about full rollers on the back of the deck? If not, do you feel that this is a big negative on this model? by Jim from Pennsylvania on June 09, 2011
A: Jim - the Simplicity ZT3500 does NOT have any anti-scalp wheels, nor does it have the rollers on the rear of the mower deck. This is not a big negative on this mower unless the area you intend to mow has numerous humps and bumps that might cause the mower deck to bounce. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: Why is the zt3000 on a closeout, Will it be discontined? Whats your thoughts comparing it to the Ariens xl48 zoom for the same money? Any idea why I can not get any info from the simplicity website about the zt 3500?
Thanks, Eric by Eric M from New Jersey on June 05, 2011
A: Eric - the Simplicity ZT3500 model was a special one time "build" by Simplicity at the beginning of 2011. Think of it as a limited edition model that was only offered to select dealers. So yes, this model is discontinued - it is no longer being produced. Simplicity built a couple of hundred units, and when they're gone, they're gone. Comparing the Simplicity ZT3500 to the Ariens ZoomXL 48, the Simplicty has a larger fuel tank, faster forward and reverse top end speeds and twice the number of cutting positions on the mower deck. And perhaps most importantly, the Hydro-Gear ZT3100 transmission on the Simplicity is more durable and more responsive than the Hydro-Gear ZT2800 transmission on the Ariens model. Both are excellent mowers, but I recommended the ZT3500 for the reasons stated above. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: Briggs & Stratton engines have had reliability problems over the years. Do you feel the engine on the ZT3500 is as reliable as Kawasaki V-Twin engines? by Daniel from Connecticut on May 15, 2011
A: The reliability issue truly stem from the lesser quality Intek engines other companies use. When you get into the ELS and Pro series engines as well as the Vanguards, the quality is very high. To say it will be the same quality of a Kawasaki is tough, but they are very relilable.
Simplicity/Briggs and Stratton are not going to skimp when it comes to Simplicity models, being these are their high end mowers and a bad reputation would hamper them greatly.
Q: who would do the warranty work. by Robert Turner from West Virginia on May 09, 2011
A: Robert - any warranty service that might need to be performed on this model would be done by your closest Simplicity dealer. Warranty coverage is honored by the Simplicity dealer no matter where the mower is originally purchased. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: can this mower handle inclines of greater than 40' in distance on a 45 degree angle by Paul Bradt from New York on May 09, 2011
A: Paul - I'm sorry, but no zero turn mower (including this one) that I know of will operate effectively on inclines of 45 degrees. This particular model is not recommended for inclines greater than 22 degrees. You may want to consider a high end walk behind mower, or perhaps a commercial grade stand on mower to tackle your mowing requirements for this property. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: Is this Briggs & Stratton motor a Vanguard motor? by Melissa from North Carolina on May 03, 2011
A: Melissa - no it is not. The engine on this mower is a Briggs and Stratton ELS (extended life series) engine - engine model 44M777-0144-G1 by Todd, Product Expert
Q: Todd, why does the ZT-3500 only have one anti-scalp rollor on the deck? Could be an issue for uneven lawns. Is the striper available? Is the unit shipped in the factory carton to my home? by Bryan from Indiana on April 28, 2011
A: Bryan - the Simplicity ZT3500 has 4 anti-scalp rollers - one on each front corner of the mower deck, and then two wide side by side anti-scalp rollers on the rear of the mower deck. The ZT3500 has the exact same mower deck as the Simplicity ZT4000 model. I'm sorry, but there is not a striping kit available for this model. And yes, this is a brand new mower that ships in a wooden crate (not a carton). by Todd, Product Expert
Q: IS THE UNIT FULLY ASSEMBLED AND READY TO GO? by Duane Schaub from Michigan on April 27, 2011
A: This unit would come ready to go except for the seat and steering bars. These would have to be put on and attached. This would be for shipping reasons. Otherwise this unit would be ready to go.
Q: Who is this manufactured by (simplicity)? by Anonymous on April 24, 2011
A: Thanks for your inquiry. The Simplicity brand is manufactured by Briggs & Stratton. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: Does the zt 3500 have wheels on the mower deck? by Dominic from Michigan on April 09, 2011
A: Thanks for your inquiry. Yes, this mower is equipped with wheels on the deck. by Todd, Product Expert

ZT3500 Simplicity
I did a tremendous amount of research before I purchased the Simplicity ZT3500. I considered Gravely, Husqvarna and several other brands. Nothing stacked up to the Simplicity ZT3500. This is a mid-grade machine, not a residential grade, which uses the 3100 series hydro-static drives, not the 2000 series used in lighter mowers. This thing is built like a tank. Note the weight of 724 pounds compared to others you may be considering. The power head is a Briggs Professional Series. It has grease fittings on all of the key areas which will enable it to outlast the lighter sealed bearings found on lesser units. I own a Simplicity 860 SE snow blower which I bought new in 1989 which is still running strong and has never failed me. I do not have a huge lawn but wanted to buy a zero turn to which will last for 20 - 30 years. This is a machine you can buy with confidence that it was the "right choice". I did get the $50 in the garage delivery. The machine was taken off the truck and put into my garage on a pallet jack by the transport driver with only my assistance needed. No sweat. The set up instructions are included with the owners manuals. After uncrating, it just required installing the seat, checking tire pressures, hooking up the battery, lubrication, checking the fluid levels and mower deck adjustments. The instructions were very easy to follow and the deck adjustments were right on the money from the factory. This is definitely a machine you should consider.
