Mulching Blades
I don't see where the blades are chopping the leaves as well as I expected. Thought it would chop them up finer than it is. Sorry not real pleased..

Gerald,
Sorry to hear about the blades we get many good reviews on how well they cut, do you think the blades are not well sharpened? If not you can try calling the manufacturer or we can do it on your behalf.

Gator Blades Don't Mulch!
The G5 Gator blades don't even mulch as well as the factory mulch blades on my Z246. They appear to be a high quality blade and I'd guess them to be pretty durable as they are not only thicker but they are infused with tungsten carbide but they do not mulch very well at all. The factory mulch blades don't do a great job but they definitely mulch better than the Gator G5 blades do.

Also, they don't seem to come very sharp from the factory and I know there is much debate as to what the... more

Nothing Special
I change blades at the beginning of every cutting season. This year, I waited about a month into the season, but am noticing the blades are starting to thin and disfigure. There is nothing wrong with what is happening, but I cannot say these blades are any better than most I have tried.

What Is "sharp"?
If you're putting an edge on your hunting knife, you may want a 10-15 degree angle you can shave with. However, I don't gut deer with a lawn mower blade and a "sharp" edge will dull more quickly, become nicked more easily and require frequent sharpening. (So will your hunting knife with a 10 degree angle!)

Most lawnmower blades work fine with a 40-45 degree sharpening angle. This is the angle nearly all manufacturers use on their blades. What does this feel like? About... more

Spend The Money
Purchased these on a tip from my brother. Worth every penny and then some. Yard has a much cleaner look after being cut, and blades lasted all season.

This Is A Muclhing Blade??
If you are trying to mulch without bagging, this Gator G5 mulching blade does not chop clippings as fine as OEM mulching blades. I now have (4) of these blades to get rid of. I have a mulching kit on my 46" Dixon, NO BAG! If you have a bag to blow into, these may work fine.

Not Sure
Received blades and it appears they couldn't cut butter....blades are dull.....will have to be sharpened before using....have not gone to the effort of putting them on my mower.
