The Ohio Steel 48CP has a heavy duty design which resists damage from rocks and other possible debris on your lawn. The tines are gentler on your lawn and more effective than standard tow-behind aerators due to the patented spring assisted design. The springs allow the plugger tines to create more defined holes and pull out a perfect plug every time, which will help your lawn receive nutrients it needs to grow.

Other benefits of the Ohio Steel 48CP include the 11-guage steel frame for added... more

Good Value
I am very satisfied with my purchase. Good quality materials. Easy to follow instructions for assembly. I did about 7 acres and everything went well. Would recommend for purchase.

48" Aerator
Box came complete, no damage, all parts accounted for. Seems heavy enough, haven't been able to use it yet.

Not Intended For Serious Work
I used this first time today, made it through 2 acres. Hit some hard dirt with a few rocks and broke 36 of the 40 tines. Didn't know until I finished. Not designed for an ATV. Had to put a 8" bolt in hitch to lower unit so it would at least make a 1" hole. Designed for moist nice grass areas. Not areas that are in need of serious renovation. Unit worth half its cost in reality. Thought by buying the priciest one would be ok, not. 20 years proffesional grounds company. Renting a unit... more

Missing Parts, Design Flaws
When you call a company about missing parts, and one of the first things you hear on their answering service is regarding missing parts, it makes you wonder if you've invested poorly. Mine was missing two tines from the factory. How hard is it to count to 40? Have they never heard of counting scales?

They did promptly ship the missing parts, although they never called me back to acknowledge that they received my message in any way.

As mentioned by another reviewer, this unit comes up... more

Satisfied With Purchase
Does a pretty good job on softer ground. You definitely need some weight on the back. I used 5 cinder blocks and pulled 2" plugs pretty consistently. If you have the right tools, you can assemble it in a little over an hour. My only gripe is, when I tried to install the cotter pins to secure the wheels, there wasn't enough room to fit them into the hole.

I had to drill out the holes to install. One side was off so much I couldn't use the washer per directions. But over all, I would... more

It was easy to assemble. I used it on my yard and experienced good results. I reseeded my yard and it is now growing grass like I wanted. Very good machine and easy to use. Fast delivery.
