Poulan Pro (54") 26-HP Garden Tractor

Our Poulan Pro with the double blade took a beating without slowing down. We were mowing an acre of planted pines, even though it was smooth terrain, it was still a little rough on a regular city type mower. After 2 years and more yards to mow, we bought the second one, this time went up to the 54" triple blade. Big mistake....It was back to the city type yards. Gotta tell you, it cant even handle a root in the yard. You hit unlevel ground or a root that snatches the deck a little off balance, that's it....new blade spindles...again....It cant handle anything other than smooth riding level yards with very few roots. My advice, stick with the two blade, its the winner.

I have owned my Poulan Pro for about 4 years. Within the first 2 years the forward motion of the mower began to slow. It would take a few moments before moving forward and would not come up to speed as quickly as when it was new. That's still the case today.

The deck has needed to be re-welded in three different areas. That's been my biggest complaint about the mower. The middle bearing on the mower deck also went out and had to be replaced.

In all fairness- I mow about 1 1/2 acres of very rough ground. Surprisingly, the guide wheels on the deck are still holding up. I thought they would be the first thing that would need replacement. But, that has not been the case.

The engine (Kohler), seems to be holding up well. I do regular maintenance on the engine and it has not given me any trouble. Amazingly, the original battery is still in the mower!

Given the amount and overall roughness of the lawn I mow, the mower has held up well. I would recommend the Poulan Pro to the average homeowner.
