Q: I have very steep grades to mow. Sometimes the grass is wet. Are chains the answer. I have a middle of the road craftsman with 18x9.50-8 drive tires. Thanks by Bill Penn from Missouri on July 05, 2011
A: Bill - chains would be a possible solution, but more than likely you will just end up tearing up your lawn. Riding mowers are typically not designed to work on grades or inclines of greater than 15 to 18 degree of slope. And if the grass is wet, a riding mower is going to be even less effective on a steep grade. by Todd, Product Expert
