I've had this about a year now. This unit has a choke which releases when you pull the start bar. In some cases, particularly when brand new or in cooler weather, the engine will start on the first pull but because the choke has released, it will sputter to a stop.
You either have to start it several times to warm it up or rush to the front after starting it and reset the choke until it stabilizes, while holding on the the start bar.
I would rather have a choke lever on the handle or even a rubber bulb starter. This isn't a problem in warmer temperatures, it starts and catches easily.
Other than that, this mower works very well. I adjust height frequently so I would prefer a single height lever. Those are hard to find, so the four independent wheel levels on this work well.
