I'm not sure what model I own but I bought it two years ago in 2007 for about $2,000 and I ignored the safety recall on it. I absolutely love this lawnmower!
It is quiet and does an excellent job. Now, the battery doesn't have as much energy as it used to and I am hoping and praying that I will be able to get a replacement next spring.
I have young children, ages 4-10, and two dogs. I feel it is safer than the previous battery push mower I used because my kids avoid it since I am rarely close to it.
No problems with my large dog, but once the mower caught the cable tying up my small dog and she is afraid of it. (Fortunately the mower stopped and neither it nor the dog nor the cable were significantly injured.)
It does get stuck on the playground equipment in the backyard, but is perfect in my small front yard with is in a fairly odd circular shape.
It has fascinated some bystanders, and my brother who helped me set it up. I like that I don't have to pay a lot of attention and the lawn stays fairly well mowed. We do have to mow the edges and strip of lawn near the street manually, but my 10 year old likes to do that with a people-powered reel mower.
If I could do things over again, I would place the electrical perimeter line closer to the edge. It does take a long time to set that line up, but it's pretty durable.
I highly recommend this product. |
