Q: How much oil does the Husqvarna RZ5424 hold and what type oil does it take? by David Pace from Tennessee on August 17, 2011
A: David - the Kawasaki FRV691V engine on this model requires 2.2 quarts of a standard SAE30 grade motor oil by Todd, Product Expert
Q: I love the GTH series of garden tractors that Husqvarna puts out...but they're impossible to find! My name has been on three waiting lists for their 52" fabricated deck model for the past four months! I've given up waiting. The main reason I wanted the garden tractor is that I occasionally (three or four times per year) roll my yard with a roller with a capacity of 900lbs. If I filled up the roller to somewhere around 600lbs, do you think the RZ5424 with the Kawasaki engine could pull it without causing serious damage? by Andrew from New York on June 18, 2011
A: Andrew - The Husqvanra RZ5424 zero turn will NOT be able to tow a load of 600 lbs. You would cause serious damage to your mower if you tried this. The max towing capacity of the RZ5424 is about 200 lbs. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: I am in the market for a zero turn mower and the Husqvarna products seem to have the highest consumer ratings. I am interested in a zero turn for mowing in the summer but I also want to mount a snow blade for winter snow removal. Would the Model 966 do the job? Do you make a snow blade for the zero turns or will I need to get an after-market snow blade. Thanks! by Mark Martin from Michigan on June 11, 2011
A: Mark - Husqvarna does not offer either a snow plow blade nor a snow blower attachment for any of their zero turn mowers. And the snow plow blade and the snow blower attachment for the Husqvarna tractors will NOT fit on any of the Husqvarna zero turns. We also do not offer any after market snow plow blades for zero turn mowers at this time. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: Are the blade spindles greaseable? Also, how hard are they to replace when they wear out? by Mac from Texas on May 29, 2011
A: Mac - this model does NOT have zerk fittings to grease the spindles. As long as you have a lift or some other way to get under the mower deck, the blades on this mower are no harder to replace than the blades on a walk behind mower. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: When this mower is shipped, is it already assembled by Robert from Kansas on May 24, 2011
A: Thanks for your inquiry. Yes, the mower is assembled. All you have to do is put on the seat and add gas and oil. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: I live in the mountians of virginia. The terrian I have to mow is hilly and rolling. Sometimes even considered steep. Will this mower have any problems with this type of terrian? Also will it hold it's self back going down a hill? by Jeffrey Mullins from Virginia on March 24, 2011
A: Thanks for your inquiry. Zero turns are designed for this type of terrain and will handle your hilly and rolling land no problem. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: What is the total width of this mower need to know if will fit through my shed door. by Mat Lebouef from Louisiana on March 15, 2011
A: Thanks for your inquiry. The total width of this mower is 57 inches. by Todd, Product Expert

More time to fish.
I received my mower on a Thursday morning, and I was cutting grass shortly after lunch. It came with excellent instructions and I had it ready to cut in no time at all. It normally takes me 2 hours to cut my yard after I get home from work, it now takes 45 minutes. This leaves me with enough time to go fishing on days I cut my grass.
This is an excellent built mower with plenty of power to handle the toughest byhalia grass that you may have on your property. This is my first zero-turn mower and I will never go back to the conventional riding mower that I previously cut my yard with.

This mower replaced a 48 inch cut riding tractor which is used to cut 4 acres. My first use without much experience on a zero turn cut my cutting time one and one half hour. I can say I am very satisfied with how it operates and ease I find in using it. Who knows how much time I'll save when I gain more experience with it.

Loving my mower
They just delivered my mower yesterday. The delivery had a small glitch...they basically left it in the road. I paid extra for the lift gate delivery. The truck pulled up to the edge of my driveway and dumped it off there. I live in a rural area and on a dirt road so the pallet jack couldn't move it. So the driver just left there. With my husband out of town, my daughter and I spent the next hour and half pulling apart the crate. I have to say the mower was packed extremely well.
Needless to say after all was said and done the mower works and runs great. I did have a little bit of trouble getting used to the reverse, it's a bit tricky. It also did get stuck in the dirt/sand twice while mowing. It took a little playing around to get it unstuck. It has plenty of power and runs smoothly and fast. It did take about 2 hours to mow my yard which is 2.5 acres. It had been 3 weeks since it was mowed last so I did have to go slower than usual. So far so good...

husy 54"
I have been very pleased with the mower. You have to get used to the zero turn handles, they are very responsive and take getting used to!!! I was disappointed with the lift gate service. My wife had to help the driver get mower up the driveway with a pallet jack ( at least they brought the pallet jack but only one person, the truck driver!) Also had to un-crate it myself and that was a Grunt!
I previously had John Deere 42" tractor and could not justify the extra grand for a Deere zero turn. Best value for the money in my opinion. This model even has the hose attachment on the deck which the local sears with the 24hp Kohler engine model didn't have. Its a keeper.

disappointed
I was very happy to receive my mower. After filling with oil, I mowed my lawn. The oil leaked all over my garage. I had to have the mower picked up by a dealer and found out the oil line was so loose that it could be turned by hand. I had to pay to have mower picked up and returned and examined which cost me $262 and was not covered by warranty. When the dealer tried to start it to drive it from the trailer, it would not start. He discovered the battery terminals were also only hand tight. I could have bought the mower locally, but thought I would save the tax by doing business online. In the end, it actually cost more.

well made mower
I just bought my Husqvarna 54 inch mower after days of looking and reading reviews for zero turns in this class. I guess the convincing reason was the price and features it had over the Cub Cadet, Troy-Bilt, Sears and Toro. This mower is well built. It runs quiet, has plenty of power and cut size (54"). After my first lawn cut it convinced me that my choice on this mower was a good one. I would recommend this mower.

Excellent heavy duty - Quality mower
Purchased the mower through Mowers Direct and was delivered on the date promised. A concern has always been what I call buyers remorse and with this machine - there is no remorse. It is better than I had imagined.
I had waited a while to cut my lawn over 8 inches tall. This machine cut through the grass with no problem and unlike my Cub Cadet the grass did not get clogged in the deck. The cut that I received on the grass made my lawn look like I had gone over it twice.
The Husqvarna RZ5424 is very maneuverable and leaves my previous Cub Cadet, which also had a 54" deck, behind. I cut my mowing time from 6 hours down to 2.
The Husqvarna RZ 5424 54” mower deck is not discussed much in reviews but whoever engineered the flow of grass after it is cut did their homework. This machine runs smooth and shows that it is quality throughout. The 24 HP Kawasaki twin cylinder engine does not seem to strain at all on the heavier grass that was unfortunately let go too long before it was cut.
What a fantastic mower.
