Q: I am in the market for a zero turn mower and the Husqvarna products seem to have the highest consumer ratings. I am interested in a zero turn for mowing in the summer but I also want to mount a snow blade for winter snow removal. Would the Model 966 do the job? Do you make a snow blade for the zero turns or will I need to get an after-market snow blade. Thanks! by Mark Martin from Michigan on June 11, 2011
A: Mark - Husqvarna does not offer either a snow plow blade nor a snow blower attachment for any of their zero turn mowers. And the snow plow blade and the snow blower attachment for the Husqvarna tractors will NOT fit on any of the Husqvarna zero turns. We also do not offer any after market snow plow blades for zero turn mowers at this time. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: Hi,
I've reviewed a number of Husqvarna zero turns and was wondering if the "F" at the end of model numbers (i.E., RZ4824F) stands for fabricated decks as opposed to stamped decks? I'm also looking at the RZ4824F. Is it a durable mower for 3.75 acres with some hills and a number of trees and other objects to mow around? Generally, how fast can the RZ4824F go with a mulching kit attached? I'm considering replacing a 19HP Craftsman lawn tractor with a 42" stamped deck with mulching kit. Could you roughly estimate the possible time saving of this upgrade? Thanks. by Miles from Connecticut on May 23, 2011
A: Miles - yes, the "F" in the model number on a Husqvarna riding mower stands for a fabricated (welded) style mower deck. The RZ4824F would be a good choice for a parcel of property that is 2.4 to 4 acres in size. I typically recommend a smaller deck (46" or less) if there are many obstacles to mow around, as a smaller deck size make the mower easier to maneuver in tight spaces. A larger deck (48" or more) are great for mowing larger open areas at higher speeds. You can mulch at full speed on this mower - it all depends on the grass conditions. With the wider mower deck, and the higher forward speed of a zero turn vs. a lawn tractor, you should be able to reduce your mowing time by at least 25% once you get the hang of turning and maneuvering your new zero turn mower. by Todd, Product Expert
