Dealing with Mowers Direct was a simple enough transaction but when you need service who's there to help you? And I needed service right from the start, or should I say a NO START straight out of the box. I had the trimmer shipped directly to my property 800 miles away and had dedicated a whole day to clear over an acre in preparation for a surveyor the next day. Gassed it up and followed the directions but no luck getting it to even pretend like it was going to start...all the Mowers Direct website could do was send me to Husqvarna for help and all they could do was tell me since I had put fuel in it (it really didn't stand much of a chance of starting without it) I needed to bring it to a dealer and leave it with them. As my schedule and time line was being shot to pieces, so were any warm thoughts of my simple transaction or any initial money I may have saved.
I talked to two dealers who were both reluctant to provide warranty work on anything bought on-line or from a big box store, but one was sympathetic to my out of town circumstances and was able to troubleshoot a shorted wire and get me cutting the heads off of Dandelions by 4 that afternoon.
Bottom line:
Once I got it running this trimmer is a workhorse! Doesn't slow down for much of anything, especially with the metal cutting blade and I like that I includes a much needed harness. Like I said about Mowers Direct, smooth transaction but if you need to make sure your equipment runs right out of the box, you may want to go some were where they can gas it up first and establish a customer dealer relationship right from the beginning.
