Husqvarna HU700L (22") 160cc Honda Self-Propelled Lawn Mower

I bought this mower based on rating and the husky name. Overall it starts very easy and the ergonomics of the self propelled system work well. When bagging, it cuts and bags like a breeze, even on a fast pace. Now the not so good. Mulching. The design seems to have trouble mulching the grass fine enough to get it to fall between the grass blades- thus leaving some on top. It occasionally will make some banging noise as grass gets hung up inside. Also, grass seems to escape from under the machine in the back left corner- design issue i guess. Machine height is set level. My old mower was much better at mulching. A month later and I'm still waiting for the free rear discharge to be delivered.

So over all it gets and A for bagging but a C for mulching. Honda makes the motor. And i think the body is made by the same company that makes sears craftsman. So, i guess Husky may only slap their name on it. I did expect a little more from Husky on the mulching dept.

This was my first time ordering a mower from the internet. Did all of the research and found the Husqvarna to be considered a quality product. Also saved some $ on the no shipping charge and no tax offer.

Not having an SUV, a direct delivery to our home would be the best option. The mower was shipped promptly, and we were notified by the local delivery service as originally instructed as well. The delivery service called just as they were about to deliver the mower as promised. The only hitch was that the truck was too large to make the corner of our street and the driver called to ask if we could come to pick up the box in our vehicle as he could not leave his truck. I explained to the driver that the reason we ordered the mower online was because we needed it to be delivered. You would think that the local delivery service would use a smaller truck for residential deliveries.

The driver then placed the box on a dolly and brought it up to the house while my husband watched his truck. Upon the first go round of our lawn, the rubber guard across the back of the mower ripped off and got sucked under the blade some how. Don't know how that could happen, but then, if you knew my husband you would understand!!

The second cutting went much more smoothly, since I adjusted the wheel height properly. The rubber guard will need to be replaced. I am sure it serves some sort of safety purpose!!

All in all, the mower seems to be a sturdy piece of equipment.
