A: This unit is going to come with standard blades. If you wanted the mulching blades, you would have to get a mulching kit, which is separate. The model for this kit is 531 30 96-43 or HU54.

A: Bob - all of the Husqvarna lawn tractors are equipped with a wash out port on the mower deck surface as part of its deck wash system. It should be utilized after each use. You simply connect a garden hose to the wash out port on the mower deck, turn on the water and engage the mower blades. You do not need to get underneath the mower deck or "lift" the tractor in order to clean out the mower deck.

A: Rodney - the Husqvarna lawn tractors are equipped with with a Reverse Operation System (ROS). Unless this system is engaged first, any attempt by the operator to travel in the reverse direction with the mower deck or the attachment clutch engaged will shut off the engine unless ignition key is placed in the ROS "ON" position. Even so, Husqvarna STRONGLY discourages backing up with the attachment clutch engaged while mowing. Turning the ROS "ON", to allow reverse operation with the attachment clutch engaged, should only be done when the operator decides it is necessary to reposition the machine with the attachment engaged. Time saver-work shaver
Received within one week of ordering. The semi truck had a hard time with our narrow road and drive but finally un-loaded under my spouses watchful eye. No damage but that tail lift was a lifesaver as I had to work that day. Uncrating it was an experience but the most difficult part was pushing the mower off of the pallet as the tires fit right into holes designed to hold the mower in place.
I bought the big boy- the 54 inch deck with the big Kawasaki engine. I carefully checked all the hardware, (Or so I thought) and even used the old trick of painting fingernail polish into exposed threads of bolts and screws to discourage vibration-loosening of the hardware. After 5 hours of continuous use the main bolt holding on the right blade went BYE-BYE. I have ordered 2 more and will carefully recheck the torque on the blade bolts when the replacement ( And a spare) arrive. Definitely my fault for not checking these mission critical bolts before operation.
As my bush hog has cleared most of the rocks above a certain size, my lawn tractor is able to avoid any direct hit, with just an occasional grazing resulting in no damage. With this tractor and an old dump wagon I will be able to easily (Over time) remove more and more of these rocks that Our Deity was so generous with here in N.C. I will also be able to care for my grape vines without risking their injury by using the much larger John Deere 990. I may even use with a tiller and a tow behind mower with an offset to cut/maintain horseriding trails on our land, clean out ditches, and stimulate root growth around my vines. Cons: Other reviews were right about the tires. They are not aggressive enough. The only other con may be the expense of a jack for this beast. For now I can use my heavy duty ramps from ground to pick up bed for the incline + access I need!

WOW!!
The best mower I ever had. And makes my old mower like a $800 mower and I paid more then this mower and that was about 11 years ago. The cut of this mower is wonderful and also no lack of power and I used about 3 times less gas also and the price of the gas helps also. I'm so glad I got the upgrade with the bigger tires and it helps a lot with my hill with the added traction. But I would get the chains and the weights it helps a lot also and I have over 1.5 acres and about .5 is hill so the chains and weights is a must for me. I can't what until I mow again, lol the mower makes it fun again to mow and the old mower wasn't fun at all.

Awesome mower!!!
I previously had a 42", 18.5 hp mower that I had used for about 8 - 10 years. My problem was that I purchased more land, and was now mowing 3.5 acres in about 4 - 5 hours. This mower cut my time in half! The 54" deck is such a relief, and cuts beautifully. The 24 HP Kawasaki engine is a beast, and it is WAY quieter than my old B&S engine, even though it's almost 6 HP stronger. The Husqvarna mower feels strongly built.
Mowers Direct answered all of my questions promptly and nicely, couldn't ask for better customer service. I did have some paint rubbed off during shipping as others mentioned in their reviews. But, Mowers Direct shipped me a can of touch up paint immediately upon letting them know. And, what a great price!

Husqvarna LGT24K54 With Mower
The tractor seems sturdy and has plenty of power. The steering arrangement is not well thought out and is sloppy and makes it difficult to steer at the higher speeds. The front left tire leaks air and needs to have a tube inserted into it. The cup holder is a nice touch but not very useful, a place to put a few tools would be much better. I had to build a platform above the trailer hitch in order to fasten a box for tools.

Lots of power, decent quality, not thrilled with the hydrostatic lever, very poor traction. Plan on buying chains if you have any grades at all to do.

I am double dipping from my earlier review.
I have been and continue to be impressed by this company! All questions answered quickly, mower delivered quickly. I mentioned that some paint had rubbed off during shipping, and they shipped a can of touch up paint the next day!

Great Mower, but...
Couple of issues. First, the packing of the mower attachment ended up rubbing off some paint on the mower during shipping. Nothing big, but a $2300 mower should show up in perfect condition. Also, the right headlight doesn't seem to have wiring secured, or there's a short, causing it to come in and out. Haven't checked it out yet so I can't say whether its just a loose connection.
Other than that, this is a great mower. Built well, runs well.

March 19, 2011 I bought a Husqvarna lawn tractor thinking I was buying a reliable machine. After 5.6 hours of mowing and found that it was smoking so bad that I called my son to check it out. The belt was shredded and obviously it was not installed correctly. Lowes delivered it to my house on March 19 and it was reported that their employees has assembled it. I do not know how this will be resolved.

I cant say enough! I made my purchase Wednesday afternoon, took less the 5 minutes. My research was already done. In an hour I got an e-mail saying your order has shipped. Expect a call Friday to arrange delivery. Friday afternoon the phone rings, "We'll see you Monday afternoon with your mower, we'll call 30 minutes prior." Monday afternoon the phone rings and next thing I know my mower is in the yard! No fuss, or hassle. After un-boxing it took me an hour tops to check it all out and mount the deck on the bottom. It was simple and all I needed was a pair of pliers. The mower is great, I cut my yard in half the time as my old 42". The Kawasaki motor is WELL worth the money.
