Todd...what is the width of this mower? 50.8 or 59.8. . Can you tell me the difference. Thank you.
by Ryan from Pennsylvania on March 03, 2012
A: Ryan - the overall width of the mower is 50.8 inches with the discharge chute cover in the "up" position. It is 59.8 inches wide with the discharge chute cover in the "down" position. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: I'm considering purchasing the HUSQVARNA YTH26V54. What happens if I ever need service? Where do I take the mower? by Steve Sanit from Texas on February 24, 2012
A: Steve - should you ever require service under the terms of the warranty, you would take your tractor to the nearest Husqvarna authorized service center, and they will perform the required work. The warranty does not cover transporting the tractor to and from the service center (that would be on you), but all warranty service would be covered. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: Does this unit accept a front blade attachment? by R Clark from Kentucky on July 20, 2011
Q: on the Husqvarna YTH22V42 and YTH23V48, how easy is it to clean the deck after mowing? Is it easy to get underneath or do you need ramps? by Bob Malzacher from North Carolina on July 03, 2011
A: Bob - all of the Husqvarna lawn tractors are equipped with a wash out port on the mower deck surface as part of its deck wash system. It should be utilized after each use. You simply connect a garden hose to the wash out port on the mower deck, turn on the water and engage the mower blades. You do not need to get underneath the mower deck or "lift" the tractor in order to clean out the mower deck.
Q: Does this tractor handdle a snow blower well? by Jim Karlskin from Michigan on July 01, 2011
A: Jim - yes, all of the Husqvarna lawn tractors will accomodate a snow blower attachment. Here is the snow blower that fits on the Husqvarna tractors: Husq. snow blower by Todd, Product Expert
Q: I live on a sloped lot. Can this tractor cut on an incline? by Kristie Weber from California on June 27, 2011
A: Kristie - none of the Husqvarna lawn tractors are recommended for slopes or inclines of greater than 15 degree's. They may work on slightly steeper inclines if the soil is firm and dry, but if the soil is loose or is wet a lot of the time, you will have traction problems on slopes greater than 15 degree's. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: Do Husqvarna lawn tractors still mow when the tractor is in reverse?? by Rodney from Maine on June 22, 2011
A: Rodney - the Husqvarna lawn tractors are equipped with with a Reverse Operation System (ROS). Unless this system is engaged first, any attempt by the operator to travel in the reverse direction with the mower deck or the attachment clutch engaged will shut off the engine unless ignition key is placed in the ROS "ON" position. Even so, Husqvarna STRONGLY discourages backing up with the attachment clutch engaged while mowing. Turning the ROS "ON", to allow reverse operation with the attachment clutch engaged, should only be done when the operator decides it is necessary to reposition the machine with the attachment engaged. Husqvarna warns against mowing in reverse unless it is absolutely necessary. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: What is the difference between the YTH2654 and the LGT2454. The LGT is more expensive. Is it just the Kawasaki vs Briggs engine? by Kevin from Pennsylvania on June 14, 2011
A: Kevin - in addition to the difference in the engines that you have already pointed out, the LGT2454 model also has larger front and rear tires (additional traction when pulling tow behind implements), a larger gas tank, a foot-operated deck lift system (easier to use), a lever operated drive system (vs. a pedal type on the YTH), and the front bumper is a standard feature on the LGT2454. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: I am looking at purchasing the Husqvarna YTH26V54, is there some assembly required when the mower arrives? by John Auxier from Tennessee on June 12, 2011
A: John - yes, there is some assembly required on the Husqvarna 54" lawn tractor models. Primarily, the mower deck on these models needs to be mounted to the frame of the tractor. The mower deck does not come mounted on the 54" models. I would say mounting the deck is moderately easy - plan on 45 minutes for this. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: Are snow plows available for the Husqvarna LGT24K54 model? by V. Stone from New Jersey on June 05, 2011
A: Yes, there is both a plow blade and a snow blower that can be mounted to the front of any Husqvarna residential grade tractor, including the LGT24K54 model. Husqvarna snow attachments We are sold out of these right now, but will get more in stock in late July or early August. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: Can the YTH26V54 model take a Dump Cart? It is not shown in the accessories. by V. Stone from New Jersey on June 05, 2011
A: Yes, any of the Husqvarna residential lawn tractors, including the model YTH26V54, can pull a dump cart. Any of the Husqvarna tractors that we carry would be able to pull any of the dump carts that we offer from Precision Products Dump Carts by Todd, Product Expert
Q: I purchased a husqavarna yth22v42 from you earlier this year. Can you tell me how much weight I can add to the rear to increase traction. I can't seem to find anything in the manual about it. Thanks by Tom Carter from New York on May 31, 2011
A: Tom - you can add 50 lbs. of weight to the back of your tractor to enhance the traction. We carry the rear wheel weight and bracket kit that will fit your tractor. Husqvarna Rear Weight by Todd, Product Expert
Q: I am looking for a huskvarna 2654 with a kawasaki motor. by Jim from Vermont on May 30, 2011
A: Jim - Husqvarna does not offer the YTH26V54 with a Kawasaki engine. Have you considered the LGT2454? This model has the 54" mower deck you are looking for and a Kawasaki engine. Husqvarna model 960 43 01-27 LGT2454 by Todd, Product Expert
Q: the john deere i have now has a very good deck and has taken several good hard nocks and licks and has not bent or knock out of shape-- does the husquarna have a good quality deck of same materials and structure by Phil Neas from Tennessee on May 27, 2011
A: Phil - we do not carry John Deere products, so I am not familiar with their design and construction. If you are looking for a mower deck that won't dent and get knocked out of shape when you bump into obstacles in your yard, you would want a model with a Fabricated (Welded) mower deck, not a stamped mower deck. None of the Husqvarna tractors that we carry on our web site have a Fabricated deck. All Husqvarna models that we carry on our web site have a stamped deck. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: Are snow plows available for this model by Rick from Wisconsin on May 18, 2011
A: Rick - Husqvarna offers a 48" snow plow blade that will fit all 2008 and newer YTH series tractors. Husqvarna #531 30 83-21. We carry this snow plow blade on our web site. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: It says the deck is mounted. What exactly does that mean by James Younger from Wisconsin on May 12, 2011
A: James - the mower decks on the two 54-inch Husqvarna tractors that we carry ARE NOT mounted to the tractor frame. The deck is detached from the tractor frame for shipping. You would need to mount the mower deck to the tractor after this is delivered to your house or business. The mower deck can be mounted using common tools in about 30 - 45 minutes, but it is a two-person job. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: How do you get to the blades to sharpen them? by Greg Fewin from Kansas on March 14, 2011
A: Thanks for your inquiry. You would need a jack of some type to lift the mower up to remove the blades so you can sharpen them. We do offer jacks for sale on our site. by Todd, Product Expert

Good value, but delivery difficult
Father in law has this mower and has had it for 2 years. I recently purchased one from Mowers Direct, and achieved a significant discount with Mowers Direct. Ordering was easy, but you may want to follow links to the transporters site to do your tracking - tracking on Mowers Direct really didn't keep up with its location in transit. Had some difficulty on the arranged date getting the delivery, and eventually found out a lift gate issue was the primary cause.
Now - in terms of unpacking and setup, no problems. Haven't cut much yet with it, but what I have cut, it clearly outperforms my Toro 46" riding mower.
I rate this 4 out of five due to the carrier's issues.

Overall, the mower is good, although it was delivered with the deck removed. I was expecting the mower to be fully assembled. The R&L truck driver was not going to uncrate my mower until I told him I couldn't sign for the delivery until I inspected the mower.
The delivery driver said he didn't have a hammer to dismantle the crate. I got him a hammer. It was raining by the time the driver disassembled the shipping crate enough to push out my mower for me to inspect. At least the driver got wet too.
Bottom line: A good mower with plenty of power. Starts easily. My lot had grass over a foot high by the time I received my mower.
It cut thru the tall grass without hesitation. A very good product. The Mowers Direct Customer Service staff were polite & knowledgeable. Unfortunately, the R&L delivery trucking company, in my opinion needs to do a better job in training their drivers.

Hard to crank
I received my mower on 3/16/12 and after assembling the mower deck, I started to crank it and cut grass---- had a hard time getting it to crank. I did get it started and cut grass that day. On the following Thursday I tried to crank it to cut grass and ran the battery down before it ever cranked. Charged battery and tried next day--- no luck at all and not over the weekend. I called mowers direct and they told me to call Husqvarna--- Husqvarna told me to take it to service dealer for check out and repair. So, I will have to borrow a truck and trailer to get mower to dealer and wait for them to check it out, get repair authorization and do the repairs. I hope this is not a sign of things to come---- I like the mower, but not the way it does not start!!!!!!!!

lawn mower
We got the lawn mower on 9/19/2011 and loved it, and we did not use it until 9/21/2011. Then we mowed our front and back yard, that is about 2 acres and it did great. But I took a 2 hour brake after I got done with the front yard to let the lawn mower cool down before doing the back yard.

Really nice mower & fabulous transaction
What more can I say...This mower is a top notch product and was the lowest price I could find any where!
The transaction was painless and shipping was fast. R&L is a great carrier & I do Terminal pick up there all the time (to save the residential & lift gate fees).
The only negative thing I can say about the mower is that I would have liked the deck's range of motion to be a little more broad. It cuts from razor close to 3.5". I like to keep the grass a bit longer than that but no biggie. The cut at 3.5" is so nice, I just cant let it get too long between cuts.

Not Happy
1.8 hrs into mowing, the mower shut down and now am getting no help from husqvarna, mowers direct, and briggs and stratton will not contact me back. I have literally done everything I know to do and nothing helps. This mower didn't even make it to it the break-in oil change (which is after 5 hours) and the motor has already need to go the shop. When the mower was working it did fine, for the 1.8 hrs I could use it. Also, I paid for the shipping company to bring me the mower (paid extra money for the lift-gate, for it to be delivered on a certain date) the full 52 foot semi trailer couldn't fit down my driveway. so they wanted me to wait 4 more days to bring a smaller truck back because the driver of the semi's trailer was full. Let me tell you when the semi arrived ON MY ROAD earlier that day there was only one other piece of freight on the entire trailer.

good mower
I am impressed with this mower. It has plenty of power and a nice, wide, even cut. The 3 blade deck is great. The mowers cutting speed is 5.5 mph. The use of the rev/fwd hydrostatic is really easy with the ignition key setting. I have used John Deere mowers where there was a button to push if you wanted to use reverse with the blades operating, not so with this mower, just turn the key and you're off. So much easier and faster to cut grass, as I have a lot of trees to cut around. The cushioned steering wheel is also comfortable. The only downside I have is the limited options for cuttting height. The highest you can cut is 3.5 inches, with half inch increments from there. I have 2 acres to cut and it takes me 1.5 hours if I really push it. Or 1.75 hours if I just go.
