Mowers Direct Recommendation
By Mowers Direct
Husqvarna has a great reputation for quality power tools, and this edger won't disappoint.
The straight shaft works much like a string trimmer, but allows you to carve out a smooth clean line instead of the irregular chop that happens when you try to edge with a string trimmer.
Husqvarna also put their Smart Start system on this unit. It's a nifty compression release that eases up the resistance on the starter cord by almost half.
We think less pulling and cussing makes yard work that much easier, and is worth paying a little extra for.

Fuel Lines Hard To Come By In Okinawa
By Charles Bush from (Apo, Ap, NH)
I own two of these edgers, and my son-in-law owns two- we use them in our small lawn businesses.
My two, and one of my son-in-law's are down due to the same problem: cracked fuel hoses from the tank to the carb. All of our edgers are less than a year old.
If not for the hose lines, these would be great edgers, but the frustration involved with getting repairs and/or parts over here in Okinawa, Japan (we are military), really lowers the score on these items (and any Husqvarna item for that matter).
If you can get the parts and services you need, get these edgers (to be honest). But if you are military and remotely stationed, think twice about your next AAFES purchase.
At a minimum, check to see if parts and services have improved for us. If / when I can get some fuel lines, I'll update my "story" on here. But for now, my business is hurting because I cannot get my edgers fixed and the support is not going so well yet. |
