Awesome
We already have a 1982 self propelled Honda walk behind mower but it has a side throwing attachment and no bag. It is still running strong but we needed a mower with a bag and with an electric start because my husband and I are not getting any younger. I insisted on the electric start and it took me a few days to convince him to agree with me to buy the honda. It is more expensive than the warehouse stores models, but worth every penny.
The free shipping was great. No hassles at a store and no tax with a better price than a dealer that was 45 minutes away. The mower arrived an my husband followed the simple assembly instructions and had it starting up in no time. He was so impressed and excited about it that he text me on my cell phone at the office to tell me how much he loved the new mower. He said it is awesome! He couldn't wait for me to get home to show me HIS new toy. Hahaha!

Really like it so far
It had been probably 11 years since I had to buy a mower, and I was very disappointed with the state of the mowers out there. I found that to find anything that was going to last required avoiding pretty much whatever is sold at the big box stores. I have only used this mower twice, and it has worked great, I hope it lasts as long as my last mower. I do enjoy the blade stop feature that leaves the engine idling. It has been surprising the amount of time that saves, particularly when bagging.

Motor Locked up
Purchased a HRX217HMA mower in April 2011. The motor locked up in June and the service response I have received has been poor at best. It appears I will have to cough up for a new mower as the grass keeps growing and the response from Honda as well as the distributor has been bad. Seems like the 6 year warranty is not worth the paper it is written on.

finding the CORRECT blades made easy by mowers direct....
My Honda did a fine job mowing. Over time, the blades wore and eventually even I had to admit it was time for replacement. The Honda was not the least expensive mower to buy and I figured the replacement blades should match the originals exactly to maintain the full benefit of the mower design. I was amazed to find many replacement blades that would fit, but were not the exact blades in use. I was also amazed to find I couldn't GET the original design blades from any local source, regardless of how large the company was. I wanted the original part number blades to maintain what I had come to expect from my Honda. Mowers Direct offered ALL of the replacement blades, including the original part numbers for the Versa-cut. Ordered, shipped, delivered. Couldn't have been easier....

Honda Mower Cuts Well
I bought the Honda mower however, my Snapper does a lot better job. I mowed the lawn with the Honda and then went over it again with the Snapper, which sucked the lawn clean. It filled the bag a number of times after I had just mowed the lawn with the Honda.
The Honda did cut well, and I loved the turn key start. It just did not leave the lawn with that very clean look like the high vac on the Snapper.
