1 Question
Q: I'm trying to decide on self propelled or not. Will this mower let you push without using the transmission? In other words when I get to the end of a row can I turn around at my own pace or do I have to have the wheels engaged? Also, what about pushing it into the garage for storage, would it have to be running? by Tim from Arkansas on March 08, 2013
A: Tim - the Honda HRR216VKA does allow you to disengage the drive system and simply push the mower if you choose to. You would release the Smart Drive control on the top of the handle to disengage the drive. You can then push the mower around. This is actually recommend when mowing around trees and other obstacles for better directional control. by Jose, Product Expert

Just The Best!
This is my third year with this Honda and it still starts the first time. My neighbors can't figure out why my lawn looks so well after being mowed. Comes with a great manual. I'm not too mechanical, but I change oil, clean the air filter, and I'm getting ready to replace the blades.
Mulching Leaves: My yard is surrounded by 50-year old trees so I get tons of leaves. This Honda just eats them up and spits them out as finely mulched leaves. I used to have to rake my yard several times in the Fall and put the leaves out by the curb. Not anymore, thanks to the Honda.
I have a 5000 sq ft yard, so the Honda gets a good work out.

Bought this a couple weeks ago and immediately used it on a small "orchard" - first mowing of the season. Grass was 8-14 inches tall. I set blade height to 3" and mowed the whole area (2000 sq ft) without bogging down.
At one point I unknowingly got the starter cord caught under a sharp-edged piece of metal on the frame and in three pulls, shredded the cord. "Damn!" I thought, "there goes a half-hour to replace it". No! It was three perfectly accessible nuts, six feet of parachute cord, and 5 minutes. Could not have been easier.
Starts every time, cuts like a razor, and bags beautifully.
