Q: Any negatives to the Honda HRR216VXA?
Is this a current year or latest model?
How much lighter are the Nexite decks vs steel?

by Paul Bartelak from Wisconsin on April 17, 2011

A: Thanks for your inquiry. There are really not any negatives to this Honda 2011 model. It is one of theter performing mowers we carry. The nexite deck is a lighter weight material that a conventional steel deck. It is rust proof and has lifetime warranty.

Not My Favorite And Should've Kept My Toro
If you think you might want a Honda or Toro mower, read this first. It may help. I've noticed some grousing about Toro quality.

I had a Toro model 20092 and I wish I had it back. I gave it to one of our daughters and her husband after they bought a house. Then I decided to try a Honda (model HRR216VXA). Well, I love the engine and that's where it ends. Instead of the Toro personal pace where you just go mow and not have to think about it because it just plain works, Honda uses a thumb... more

Honda Leaf Shredder Is A Real Time Saver
The leaf shredder has saved a lot of time gathering leaves, saved on bags, and made cleanup much simpler. That, coupled with the best mower I've ever owned makes working in my yard a pleasure, if that's possible!

New Mower
First time in my life I've had a mower start with one pull. Very smooth. I love the blade stop with motor still running feature. Very pleased!

Read. Set. Mow!
Hang on to your hairpiece, this thing moves. The variable speed thumb control is a bit touchy and will take a little getting used to, but this mower definitely has plenty of power for my average suburban lawn that is sloped in front and on the side. If you can keep up, you will save time and get an aerobic workout.

Pros:
The sides of the deck extend past the wheels so you can get close to obstacles.
The double blades produce a superior, even cut. My lawn looks great.

Darn Good Mower
The other day, our 7 year old Toro Personal Pace's engine blew up in the midst of mowing. (Yes, literally blew up). Having a positive experience with the Personal Pace system, the first inclination was to purchase another Toro. So I did plenty of research on mowers. It seemed like the entry level personal pace mowers ($350-$400) were going down in quality.

Then I decided to research Honda mowers. We had purchased a Honda snowblower 2 years ago and it has been a great machine. For $50... more

It Is A Honda - I Got What I Wanted And Expected!
Well I have used the new mower 3 times in the last 2 weeks - and am very, very happy! I have owned a Honda snow blower for years and when my old lawn mower finally died I upgraded to a Honda mower too. Love the one pull start and the variable speed of the drive. I am using the mulching feature and pleased that there is very little left behind, and then only in one or two passes on my lawn - guess I let it get a little long for mulching - but I am learning.

Great Mower
Like the others have said, this is a great mower. This mower mows fast, light weight, and easy to use. I've had no problems so far.

Very Satisfied
I got it yesterday, and my wife mowed the lawn in 45 minutes. Had to empty bag more often, but
very powerful and easy to operate. I also like the easy hand pull quick start.

Awesome
No assembly........pour in oil....pour in gas. Started with half a pull.

I have 1 acre and now it looks great. I've always disliked self-propelled because I'm tall and they're so slow.

This mower will get up and go. I knocked out my yard in no time.

The throttle is different than many but very easy to get used to. I didn't bag but used the mulch instead.

The tri blades absolutely destroyed the clippings into a million pieces. This mower is worth every penny.
