Q: Does the charger stop charging on its own or does the battery have to be removed as soon as charged?

A: Patricia - the battery charger will stop charging the battery on it's own once the battery is fully charged. The battery may be stored in the charger or removed once it is fully charged. It is recommended that you unplug the charger from the electrical outlet once the battery is fully charged if you store the battery in the charger.

Q: If we can't locate the replacement string locally, can we order it online? Also, I didn't locate it on your site.

A: Rebecca - this trimmer uses standard .065 diameter replacement line. You do not need Greenworks brand replacement line. This should be available at any hardware store. We also carry this replacement line, so you can order from us if you wish to do so. Trimmer Line

Q: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE GREENWORKS CORDLESS 20V MODEL 20172 AND 21602 THEY BOTH HAVE SAME WARRANTY, ONLY ONE IS CHEAPER. HOPEFULLY THEY ARE AS GOOD AS ADVERTISED

A: One of these is going to be a 6 amp unit, this would be the more expensive model. The other is a 2.6 amp model. The 6 amp unit would have the stronger motor.

Q: Do you have to buy and replace the entire spool when you run out or can you just buy the string and re-spool it yourself?

A: Bernie - you can purchase any standard .065 diameter trimmer line and re-spool the trimmer line yourself.

 Great Trimmer, Good Edger

I received the GreenWorks cordless trimmer/edger in May 2011 and put it together with ease. I read the reviews on Amazon's site regarding the battery life (20 volt lithium-ion @ 6amp hours) and have to agree, it is great. I charged the battery in 4 hours and began using it to trim and edge not only my lawn and sidewalk but also my neighbors and still had have the battery's life remaining.

 Weed Trimmer Electric

Works well on grass and weeds. Trimmed the back and front yard on one charge. Edger works but leaves much to be desired on finish look. If you want a nice thin even edge this is not the tool. Very pleased with this, and I recently purchased the lawn blower which is compatible with my existing battery and charger.
