I purchased this trimmer based on several reviews. I was replacing an old B & D corded. In using this for the first time I went through an entire spool of line in 10 minutes, trimming lawn around trees, shrubs, garage, garden. It came with replacement spool that was sealed in shrink wrap. On opening the wrap the line went everywhere and it took me over an hour to rewind and try to get the spool onto the trimmer without unwinding again and again. You need to have three hands to get this done.

On calling the manufacturer I was told that the line feeds out 12 inch with every push of the button on the handle, so start and stop trimming is not recommended. You have to have the trimmer going constantly, never let up on the switch until you need to have new line or you finish and stop. This is impossible for my trimming needs, as I move from area to area on a 3/4 acre lot and am not going to hold the power switch on continuously.

I would not recommend this trimmer.
