I have used trimmers of all types for over 45 years. I bought this one last spring for some light duty trimming around my new home.
They spent more time on the styling and advertising than on the quality. First of all, you will spend more time unbinding the string on the very poorly designed spool feeder than actual trimming. You will never achieve a full 15 " cutting path for the line will reduce down to 8" in less than a minute of trimming.
The balance of the tool is toward the cutting head therefore putting a lot of strain on the arms and back. I made a strap to remedy this problem- the manufacturer did not supply it, which is a serious drawback for a tool of this kind.
The last thing is the most serious due to the flimsy construction The handle in the center will not stay fixed in position due to metal to plastic contact slipping. A slight upward movement of the head broke, or should I say bent, the shaft at the handle because the aluminum tube is very flimsy.
I have since repaired the handle and the bent tube with wire which has added considerable strength to the thing.
This all happened after about 6 hours of use. I should not have to advise you to not waste your money on this tool; the Chinese do not need it.
