Q: Can I use an extension cord with the lawn mower cord? My yard is small, but my only outlet is on the back of my house. by Cheryl from Florida on June 12, 2011
A: Cheryl - you HAVE to use an extension with this electric mower. The mower does not come with a power cord. You can use a 16-gauge outdoor rated extension cord if you only need 40 feet or less to reach the edges of your yard. If you need more than 40 feet of extension cord to reach the edges of your yard, you should use a 14-gauge outdoor rated extension cord. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: If the Earthwise 20" mower plugs into an extension cord, what device does it have to need recharging? by Tony from California on May 04, 2011
A: Tony - the Earthwise model 50120 does not have any device or part that requires recharging. We do carry two (2) Earthwise 20-inch models - the 50120 that is a corded model, and the 60120 that is cordless. On the cordless 60120, you would have to plug this mower into an electrical outlet to recharge the on-board battery pack. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: LawnMower just stopped working suddenly while cutting grass. It would not start back up. I tried recharging it back to full and it doesn't still help. When it stop working the battery had only 1 green light gone (meaning still had plenty of power) This happen after the first use of my lawnmower, I purchased it from Farmers Furniture. You know what could have caused this? by Wade from Georgia on March 14, 2011
A: Thanks for your inquiry. A situation such as this would require you to contact the manufacturer directly. You can reach Earthwise directly at 800-633-1501. by Todd, Product Expert

Basic function failure
1) 6" front wheels jam in 3.5" grass. Forward motion accomplished only by kicking the crossbar 1' per kick.
2) Aperture of collection bag is smaller than the rear emptying a full bag is frustratingly difficult because the grass jams in the small aperture. The bag latch structure is inconvenient.
3) motor appears to have sufficient power
Conclusion: Bad engineering design. This machine was not field tested under realistic conditions.

How can you believe...
I LOVE MY ELECTRIC MOWER. The only problem is replacement blades are more costly than other mowers. Why? I don't know. And you have to mail order them, no one carries them. This is an excellent mower.

Review Earthwise Mower 20'
A great mower just a little heavy to manuever in tight spots but overall does a great job. Especially like the mulch function keeps trash bin light and is healthy for my lawn. Shipping from not this company it was a drop ship was a problem no notification of shipping tracking number. Joan at Mowers Direct was on top of it and followed thru excellent customer care at Mowers Direct.

First electric mower
The city where I live has banned the use of gasoline powered landscape equipment. I've been looking for an electric mower that did not weigh too much, runs on electricity, and had a catch bag. I was very happy to find that Mowers Direct (MD) and that MD carried the Earthwise mower. While it does weight 60 pounds, I think most buyers can get help to pick up the shipping box and carry the mower to where it can be assembled. I like the bright green colored knobs, which aided me in identifying parts that need to be connected. I definitely recommend this mower for anyone who needs an electric mower.
The Earthwise price is great especially when compared to the Neutron, and the Earthwise mower is 21 pounds lighter than the Neutron. Further, MD does not charge for the shipping or sales tax. Both mowers offer a two year warranty.
If Earthwise takes users input for future enhancements: I recommend changing the plug to one that is grounded, and adding a spool to the power assembly so that the extension cord can be rolled around it a couple of times to keep the extension cord plug attached to the mower plug.
Thank you Direct Mowers for providing good products, great service, and well informed staff.

Heavy mower
Mower is very heavy - not easy to push - and also takes up lots of room when its being stored. Not at all pleased with the mower.

Earthwise electric mower
I love the fact I do not have to pull mower motor to start. I can just plug it right in and go. No gas to deal with either, especially since gas is so high.

Going GREEN with Earthwise
I'm not one to believe those reviews of lawn equipment after just 30 days of use . . . so here's my story.
I purchased my Earthwise over two years ago. At first we just mowed our small Texas lawn (1500 sq. ft) and the mower worked great. The only issues I have are:
1) The bag attachment kept falling off, so I "MacGuyver'd" a coat hanger to hold it on.
2) Like any mower, when the grass is wet, it tends to clog quickly.
Now my 12 year old daughter is mowing two of our neighbor's lawns as well, further reducing the overall carbon footprint. She's able to push the mower with ease. The mower continues to run like a champ and cuts deep grass without issue.
We charge the mower after every two lawns mowed and it continues to run extremely well. We follow the recommended maintenance (Blade sharpenings, and lubrications).
This is an outstanding mower for the money and for the environment!!

Earthwise, the easy way to cut grass
My new mower arrived in good order at my office while on vacation. My co-workers were interested in the mower. I told them I found your website and wanted a change in my life.
My lawn was badly overgrown but my new mower took care of the tall grass quickly. No problems with this mower.
No sticky carbuerators, defective gas flow, stuck chokes, and all the other calamities I have lived with for thirty years with gas mowers.
Your product has removed a large pain in my life and I thank you for shipping free and not billing the onerous California tax.

User friendly and cuts well
No longer back bending timeless pulls to start up the mower.
Just a turn of a switch and running until you decide to turn it off. The blades cut very well.
A very good investment in lawn care and the environment.
