Needed But Not Informed
I bought the bagging system for my Cub Cadet 42" XT1. I installed it and lo and behold, it didn't do a thing. The grass stayed on the lawn. Then I ordered a nee( what I thought I needed) and they sent me the stock blades that came with the unit. Upon further research, there are what's called "high lift" blades, so I bought them.

Now I have two sets of brand new stock blades and the new high lift blades. Needless to say, the new blades did the trick, if you order the bagger... more

Right Part
I had a set of MTD blades, I liked them because they were heavier, but mounting is difficult due to the shape of the mounting hole in the blade.

I change the blades with an impact wrench without removing the deck. The MTDs are almost impossible to get on straight without removing the deck.

So - I am switching back to the standard ones that are easier to change. If we mow all of our grass and weeds at one time it takes 6.5 hours so the blades get a lot of use.

Cub Cadet Replacement Blades
I'll admit I haven't priced new blades yet for my new mower but having saved about $40 by paying by check I bought the blades thinking it was per set and not each blade. $20 for a piece of twisted steel seems unreasonable even if it is the lowest price out there.
Cons: Expensive
