  5 Questions
Q: What company makes the engine on this mower? You give the cc's what is the horse power rating on this engine?
by George Sluder from North Carolina on July 05, 2013

A: George - Cub Cadet still builds their own engines in their own factory. It's a Cub Cadet brand engine. There is no true conversion from cc's to HP, but a 420cc engine would be roughly equal to 12.5 HP.
by Jose, Product Expert
Q: Does this mower have mulching capability?
by Larry Riens from Nebraska on May 23, 2013

A: This mower does come with the ability to mulch and side discharge out of the box. There will be a baffle which comes with the mower. The bagger would be additional for this mower.
by Jose, Product Expert
Q: Jose,

Looking at the Cub Cadet electric start walk behind model CC 760 ES.

DOES THIS HAVE BOTH ELECTRIC AND MANUAL START CAPABILITY?

by Neil Hibler from Massachusetts on May 19, 2013

A: Neil - the Cub Cadet CC760ES does NOT have a recoil starter on the engine. This mower only has an electric start option.
by Jose, Product Expert
Q: Can I connect a sulky to this mower??
by Kareem from New Jersey on May 09, 2013

A: Kareem - sorry, but this mower cannot be used with a sulky attachment.
by Jose, Product Expert
Q: Can a sulky/velke be used with this mower...adequately. I weigh about 250lbs. Personal lawn use only.
by Dean from Kentucky on April 21, 2013

A: Dean - the Cub Cadet wide area walk mowers are NOT set-up to be used with a sulky.

Mowers Direct Recommended

The Cub Cadet CC 760 ES wide area mower is one of the most popular models that Cub Cadet produces, and it's easy to see why once you use one. This mower combines lots of power and top-end performance.

You may notice I have listed this unit ahead of the Ariens WAW34 but the Cub Cadet is actually a lower price. This is actually another aspect I considered when putting the particular item ahead of the Ariens. When you look at the cost of this unit and the overall quality and put the two... more

Drive Belt Issues
I had a problem with the drive belt coming off whenever torque was not applied to the belt. I found that adjusting the belt tensioner cable to a tighter mode corrected that issue. The belt no longer comes off while mowing. I use this mower commercially and have over 200 hrs on this machine. No other issues during this time
Pros: Easy To Use, Quiet, Price, Exceeded Expectations, Reliable, Easy To Store
Cons: Belt

Lots Of Belt Trouble
I have been extremely frustrated with the drive belt on this mower. I used the mower twice, it threw the belt off four times! Calling the tech people at Cub Cadet was also frustrating as I was told to just follow the manual --they did not seem to realize that this mower has three (3!!) belts, not just two! We finally took it to a shop that repairs Cub Cadets --he also got the same run around with the Cub techs -- he was told this mower only has two belts BUT there are three --the deck... more

Great Mower For Large, Wooded Lot
Ordered online and selected regular, lift gate shipping. It arrived 2 days later (although I do live in Illinois). Well crated for shipping. Arrived without a scratch. Only assembly was flipping up the handle and hooking up the battery.

I have a 1/2 acre lot with native trees, and only about 1/4 is actually flat. I replaced a standard tractor mower with this one. After a few cuts, I have concluded this is what I wished I'd had all along. With the maneuverability, it is much quicker around... more

A Beast Of A Mower - Love It
I bought this new 2 weeks ago and have used it twice on my 0.4 acre yard. I used to mow this with a 21" Snapper and then graduated to a 4WD Husquarvana when the Snapper died after many years of service. Both would leave clumps of grass that I had to re-mow. I returned the Husquarvana because I got so irritated with the clumps it would leave. Both of these would take me 1 hour and 50 minutes to mow my yard plus a few more minutes to clear clumps. I kept putting off the big spend on a... more

More Than I Expected....
I bought this mower going on 3 years ago.... I use it on 5 commercial accounts, my yard and two more residentials. It has treated me well. Only problems have been when I hit a water meter cover, I knocked the blades out of sync and broke the belt. I replaced it and it has been fine since. This has been my workhorse mower. I would get another.

The Mower I Have Been Looking For
Purchased this mower in hopes that I wouldn't have to purchase another anytime soon. It was my experience that most mowers have about a 5-year life expectancy and then you are shopping again. I live at 8000 ft. and my grass is pretty thick in the Spring. Most mowers could only cut a half a swath before overworking the engine causing it to stop. This mower does not have such a problem. It cuts through the highest grass and never acts stressed at all. I appreciate the water clean-up feature... more

Good Mower
Mower: Very happy with my purchases. I have used the mower half dozen times or so and love it. 4th gear is a little to speedy for my yard because I have to navigate lots of landscaping and turn a lot (trees, flower beds, side walks, and curbs). When in 3rd or 4th gear it's important to simply ease into full speed or else the mower will jump causing the front wheels to pop up leaving an un-even cut. Just ease into. 1st and 2nd gear doesn't have this problem because the mower goes much... more

Transmission Drive Belt
Belt not designed properly for tension. Jumped off after 12 minutes of use. You Tube information from a landscaper that had one of these was most helpful. No instructions on how to replace the belt or buy a new one. I was able to get it back on myself. Book says, must take to an authorized dealer for new one. Luckily I figured it out and now operate the mower very slowly and in low gears so the belt does not jump off of the pulleys.
Pros: Price
Cons: Difficult To Use, Bad Instructions

Rating Relability
Bought this mower after my 15 year old 33" wide cut Troy-Bilt finally gave up the ghost. Pros: easy to start by turning the key, seems well built.

Cons: seems for me, 2nd gear is too slow, and when maneuvering, 3rd gear is too fast. Speed control handle located on the top is difficult to use when slowing down while trimming around bushes, heat pumps, etc.

The Troy-Bilt had the speed control handle located on the bottom of the handlebar. This was much easier to use, and you didn't... more

Cuts Great
I purchased the mower to cut the sides of our driveway which is 1 mile long. The mower has reduced the time required to cut the drive by 50% which is great!
Pros: Price, I'd Buy It Again, High Quality, Durable
Cons: I Would Like For The Mower To Run Faster In High Gear
