Q: Can you elaborate on the 110 degree adjustable blade angle. If zero degrees is vertical. How many degress does it angle to the right when viewed from behind the edger? To the left. I want to cut a 45 degree bevel on the edge of my garden. So it must rotate at least 45 degrees to the right. by Pete from Georgia on August 14, 2011
A: Pete - the head will pivot from a vertical position up to a 110 degree angle to the LEFT (away from the body of the edger). So 90 degrees would be parallel to the ground, and you can actually go 20 degree beyond that if you would ever need to. The head does not pivot to the right (toward the body of the edger) at all. by Todd, Product Expert
Q: Is the Airens 9' edger self propelled so that it doesn't have to be pushed? by Howard Andrews from Florida on July 04, 2011
A: Howard - the Ariens 9" gas lawn edger is NOT self-propelled. This would have to pushed to move in forward and backward. We do not carry a self-propelled gas walk behind edger. In fact, I'm not sure I have ever seen one. by Todd, Product Expert
Ideal for large areas that you want to look professionally manicured, whether you do your own edging or have a landscape business.
The reliable 136cc LCT engine does all the work, and large guide wheels make it a breeze to follow contours and curves.
This unit also features an adjustable cutting head that can rotate 110°. If you'd rather have a beveled edge around your plantings, just set the angle where you want it and the edger does the rest.
You won't have to lug a gas can along with you, either- the fuel tank holds almost a gallon of gas so you don't waste time running back to the trailer or garage.
It has two very minor drawbacks. First, it is a little less sturdy with 3 instead of 4 wheels. Secondly, it is slightly heavier than 2-cycle versions.
Otherwise, this Ariens Precision Walk-Behind Edger is a very affordable and reliable product.

Good Product
This is a good edger. I don't really like the staggered curb wheel. It doesn't really work either.
The engine is a champ though and it does a really, really nice edging job.
More than adequate for a home owner.

A GREAT EDGER!!
Trying to put a clean straight edge on a lawn next to any concrete with a string weed eater doesn't work. The only tool that will leave a sharp straight edge is one of these machines. Fast shipping, not a scratch on it out of the box. This is a quality edger.
I was going to buy one of the brands that the "Super Hardware Stores" sell but reading the reviews of customers that bought those units we're not positive. Mostly the same issues with the unit. This unit was a little more $ but in this case, "You get what you pay for" really stands out!
Nice little machine! OHV engine started on the FIRST pull after I added gas & oil. I won't ever have to buy another one of these in my lifetime..............
