 Self-propelled problems

Good motor on a lousy mower. I also had problems with the rear wheels. One wheel snapped off, but was replaced under warranty. The rear wheels lock up making it impossible to turn unless you lift the back wheels off the ground. This is not practical. Do not buy. Spend your money on the commercial Snapper or Toro.

I bought this machine figuring it was a really good investment. From the first day, I had problems. Replaced 3 cables. The BIG problem with the machine is the drive system. I constantly had problems with the wheels locking and had to have the wheels cleaned out. Ariens told me the drive system was not the problem. This went on until the warranty ran out - then I was on my own. The other problem is trying to adjust the height adjusters on the back wheels. They would constantly get stuck. I had to take the back wheels off to adjust the height. All in all, I lost around $1000 on this ma... more

 Great addition for lawn care pros

The mower is awesome, a little weird looking (handles); but the mower does an super job on hills.

It's a great addition for any lawn-care professional, but I would not recommend it for the average, everyday user.
