I have about 3/4 acre, of mostly Bermuda grass and mow weekly. I purchased this bagger because I had a thatch problem my first year of mowing. This bagger system requires about 4-5 dumps, per cutting and has adequately resolved my thatch problem.
I gave this product a 3 because it required some modifications before it functioned properly.
I made and installed a high density foam seal, between the plastic lid and bag frame, to prevent grass from blowing down my back and all over the engine. There was a considerable amount of grass clippings originally blown from this poorly sealed section. It was very irritating and could be unsafe (grass in your eyes and fire hazard for muffler) if left unfixed. In addition, the inlet tube required 5-6 rivets to properly seal that section.
These two problems should be addressed by Ariens. This is a pricey accessory and should not require the above customer fixes to function properly.
It was easy to install. However, you'll need to do additional modifications (longer bolts and spacers) if you have a tow bracket installed and want to use it.
