Q: can mulching kit replace bagger? what is difference

A: Debbie - yes, you could mulch instead of bag if you prefer. The mulch kit would replace your bagger. When you bag, the grass is cut one time by the mower blade and the cut grass is discharged into your grass catcher bag and then you dispose of the clippings out of the bagger as you mow. If you installed a mulch kit, you would remove your bagger from your mower. The mulch kit cuts the grass clippings multiple times into very fine clippings. These clippings then fall back into your grass, and as they decompose, the clippings provide added nutrients for your lawn.

Mulching kit
I found the mulching blades to not work well. The standard blades lift the grass much better to get an even cut. Use the mulching plate to block chute. If grass is longer you may need to make a second pass after cuttings dry to remove mulch build up.

Happy with the whole process
So far it has been just what I hoped for: cutting, getting in and around small spaces. Putting the mulching kit together was simple but you do need a torque wrench, just something to remember when ordering the kit. But again just perfect for my 1 acre yard.
And just a side note, delivery was simple, fast and I was happy with the whole process!!

Mulching Kit
The mulching kit was delivered very quickly and was easy to install; although I would recommend removing the mowing deck to ease removing and installing the blades.
A cheater bar helped along with a short length of 4x4 to keep the blades from moving.
It's a good product and does a great job. Torque the blades as recommended.
