Q: Hi. I'm about to purchase the Ariens mulching dome kit (711035) for my push mower (model 911086 / serial 000667) and just wanted to confirm compatibility. Also looking at the dethatching accessory which I don't remember being available when I purchased the mower in the fall of '02. Is it compatible? What is your opinion of it? Do I need to use it (x5) to equal one pass with a power aerator or power rake?

A: Mike - the 711035 mulching dome kit is compatible with your Ariens 911086 21-inch mower. It will fit just fine. On the other hand, the dethatching kit is NOT compatible with your mower - it will not fit. The dethatch kit works pretty well, but not as well as a power aerator or a power rake.
